Everyone get your ring boiled and steamed!!!!

Oh my god-I cannot believe it!! I had my ring cleaned today(through boiling and steaming) and I am in awe of the change in how sparkly it is. It is unbelievable!!!!! I clean my ring very often by myself but after having it professionally done--it is way different!!!!

By the way, the guy told me that the proper way to clean a ring is in alcohol overnight and that you cannot overclean it or clean it too often!!!! I am soooo excited!!!!

I work at Barnes and Noble with a cafe and I have learned how to use the steaming wand on our cafina to clean my ring. The cafe staff thinks I am crazy because I cleaning my ring every five seconds.
It looks sooooo sparkly.

I was picking up my wedding band on Thursday and I asked the jeweler to clean my ring. He steamed it and when he brought it back, one of the diamonds was missing!!!!! Apparently it had been loose and came out!! I immediately noticed (he didn't!) and they found the diamond in the steam machine. My ring is at the store now being fixed. I had to go all day yesterday without my ring. It felt so weird!!!!!

Where do you get this done?? I know that they steam it at the flea market but is it also boiled???

i got my ring steam cleaned for the first time about a month ago. i had to get my prongs tightened (one of the stones was loose) and ii asked them to steam clean it. i was amazed at how sparkly it was!

I had to bring my ring back to get the prongs tightened too and while I was there, I asked her what jewelry cleaner I should register for. She said don't, bring all your jewelry to me and I'll do it for you.

It's a nice offer but he knows if I come back, I'll be all starry eyed at the sparklies in the cases and might consider another purchase.

I also got it cleaned in the jewelry district the other day. I think the guy told me to clean it at home I should use 1 part ammonia and 3 parts water. But I just figure I'll keep going to jewelry stores!

That's what I do----it works *almost* as good as the jewelery store!

Is that what they do when you take it into a jewelry store? I always like the way my ring looks after I do that - I have a sapphire, so it gets smudged easily!
