Everyone say it with me - HR Sux!!!
Sorry to anyone who actually works in HR, but I've been having such a hard time making my new job official!!!
First they offered me a pittance salary![]()
for a job that I'm 5 years overqualified for. So I write them this big, long, self-congratulatory email listing all of my professional achievements past and present, what I've done for them since I've been here, and how such a small increase over what I was previously making is ridulous given the amount of additional responsibility I would be taking on. They send me the electronic equivalent of 'oh, okay' and give me the full amount I've asked for, which is really just below the top of the range. I was expecting to have to neogiate a bit, so although I'm not complaining, I was really surprised, becuase it just shows how little thought went into the original evaluation of my experience and the responsibility involved in the new position.
Flashforward to today. HR was sending me an amended contract to sign. I open it and now they've changed the title on the position!!!!![]()

This is all particularly curious because we were just told yesterday that a position dedicated to publicity for contemporary music has just been cut due to budget constraints and will not be filled until April 06. My new title is just vague enough to include the music too, so my thought is that they've changed the job description and haven't told me about it. So annoyed!!!!!!! ![]()
