Evolution Vs. Intelligent Design

I know this qusetion has probably been done to death at this point, but i heard this on NPR yesterday and looked it up:

Kansas Board of Education

Not that I ever had any desire to move there, but Kansas has move up the list in states I never want to live in.

Is intelligent design the new term for creationism? I'm assuming so - it's less overtly religious-sounding than creationism, but still implies a grand designer.

DH and I have said we will not live in a state that makes the teaching of evolution illegal, or that dilutes it with religious allegory.

Darn...we were SO looking forward to moving to Kansas...

I think that's exactly what they are doing: disguising creationism as intelligent design. This way it can fall outside of the religion in school boundary.
Even though we are not planning on kids, DW and have the same criteria for eduaction and states: if you don't teach evolution, we're not going. I even want to consider not traveling to those states.
