EX run in

I just ran into my EX at starbucks this morning, I have not seen him in 4 yrs. We lost a baby together and I just could not get over it. He congradulated me on the engagment and I was happy to see him, But as soon as I got into the car, the tears started and I cannot stop. OMG I am sorry to post such a horrible topic but I cannot regain myself this morning. I cant beleive I am puring my heart out on these boards either, but you guys are great and I am sure I am not the only one out there this has happened too.

Thanks for letting me vent.

Re: EX run in

I hope this makes you feel better b/c I would NEVER normally admit this but if it gives you some sense of comfort and a sense of 'you are not alone' then it is worth it...

Every once in a while, when I run into my ex, I still get emotional and upset (and sometimes angry and bitter). It's TOTALLY normal b/c you are human and you have emotions-- but I have found myself crying over him before... a few times! LOL but you know what? It's the truth and it's reality so I'm not going to hide it.

I think it would be even worse if I had went through what you went through with him (meaning with the baby which is terrible, I'm so sorry for that!!!)... but it's hard, it takes time and sometimes you never truly get past it and there will always be a little something there-- and that brings out emotions.

Try to feel better, I know it's hard and it gives you knots in your stomach all day

I could only imagine how hard that must have been to see him.

Good idea Chrissy-- here is something cute to make you smile and chuckle a bit...

Here is a pic of a dog in the same costume I bought Charlotte for Halloween this year!!! How freaking cute is that?! Charlotte chases her tail when she is in the costume for some reason-- ONLY when she is in the costume!

That is totally understandable & acceptable. You have a history/connection with each other and that is never going to change.

We are here for you!!!

Vent anytime you want. Your entitled to feel that way, you guys went through rough times together seeing him is bound to stir up memories. I dont see my ex at all ( knock on wood) but when he occasionally emails me it puts me in a somber mood. It's normal

Ugh I am always affriad to run into an ex-the worst.

I'm sorry sweetie it's never easy. Even though you might not feel like it now, maybe this little run-in will help you heal even more. Maybe it was a little blessing.
Feel better

I'm so sorry about this. It must be so difficult, and I wish I knew what to say to make you feel better. But, it's good that you two were amicable, and happy for each other.

If it makes you feel a little better - I'm in a wedding in 3 weeks, and two of the groomsmen are exes - one I was with for a year, and the other for 3 years right before I started dating FH. We all get along thankfully, but it should make for an interesting, if not slightly awkward, night The funny thing is, the 3 of us will probably be fine, it's all of our friends that get uncomfortable! That's what I get for dating my friend's fiance's friends!!!

Re: EX run in

so sorry to hear! i must admit i'm quite fortunate that i live in NY--cause my ex...the one that i thought was THE ONE, lives back in south carolina. (where i used to live) after our break-up, everytime i saw him in town...it was just lost it. in your case--you went thru sooo much. it's okay to shed tears and feel emotional!!!

after all we are only human.

ETA: i wanted to add--that my ex and i broke up, and then tried the 'friend' thing for awhile. then i found out he was getting married...and i just ended the friendship--i just couldn't take it!!! we all have our breaking points sometimes--you are soooo not alone!

here's a happy image to cheer you up!
