Just to pass some time, anyone have stories of their or FH's ex?
My FH's ex and him emailed probably 3-4 times a year. They dated through part of high school and all of college, but then she ended it right before her graduation. I don't really mind the light contact, especially since my ex is in our circle of friends, so I can't really say anything.
Anyway, she emailed him a few months ago to see how things were going, and he told her that we were engaged. Over a month later she replied with a 3 paragraph email about how he was such a huge role in her life, some of her favorite memories would be nothing without him including their first kiss, proms, etc ... It also went into how she always thought they'd get back together and true love never dies so there will always be a place for him in her heart, and she hopes he thinks of her sometimes and smiles about their times together. Oh, and her family was disappointed that he was not marrying her. The month lag was because she wasn't sure how to react. She also added in a few lines about how she was happy he found his true love, etc ... and actually mentioned my name in the email about how I'm lucky to have him.
Now of course I'm only giving you the parts I focused on. It could have been a closure email, but honestly - who writes that? I take it as 'I'm still here if you want me.' Surprisingly, I didn't get mad - I really thought I would, but I almost felt sorry for her. I also was a little put off that FH forwarded it to me - like I want to read about her fond memories of him, but I understand why he did, and I'd do the same. I just think it's inappropriate to write something like that. Seriously, they broke up 4 years ago! And she's living with her current boyfriend! Could you imagine if your FH sent an email like that to his ex upon finding out she was getting married? I asked my FH and he said 'I'd think you were crazy!' I personally would prefer my ex not think about our 'wonderful' times together. My MOH was like 'A simple congratulations would have been fine. No need to take a trip down memory lane.'

I've got a great one as well. My FH ex actually asked if she could come to our wedding......BUT this was BEFORE we were even engaged!!!! We hadn't even talked about marriage at that time. She was like 'oh, I just know you two will get married...I hope I will be invited'. I guess any other nice person would have just laughed it off....but not me. My exact words were 'Yeah, not so much....but thanks'. She freaked out (in front of everyone) and started crying. She even wrote my FH an email the following day asking why I hated her so much, meanwhile, I was NEVER mean to her.....but why in her right mind would she think I would invite her? I dont even know her!!!!
Long story short, I hear periodically that she still talks about it with mutual friends.
Wow, some people just don't have lives.

I don't think any of my ex's know I'm engaged, I don't talk to any of them anymore. However, most if not all of my so called male 'friends' stopped being friends once they found out I was getting engaged.

i don't want to go into deatials but all I can say is that a lot of men were not happy the day i got engaged!!

My FH only has one ex girlfriend and one girl he dated for about 5 months. He hasn't seen either of them in over 5 years. They don't know where he lives now or anything.
My ex-boyfriends know if they were to try to get back in touch with me it would be WW3. I have never had a good break up, almost filed an order of protection against one exs because he was abusive and stalked me after we broke up... Needless to say... There would be a rumble!

I dont even know if my ex knows I am getting married. I would think he does cause we have mutual friends and they know.
My FH's ex that he dated for about 3 years might not know. I dont think he stays in contact with her. I might have to find out.

My ex knows I'm engaged... and it's cool. he was a nice guy... it wsa just one of those relationships that were 'ho-hum' at the time and now I look back and say he wasn't the one for me.
FH however has a psycho ex-girlfriend. she was really nasty to him, they were on again and off again, with the last straw of her cheating on him. this was about 2 years ago.... so a few months ago she finds out we're engaged and calls FH's best friend to get the scoop on me .... and THEN has the balls to call FH.... oh, 'I miss you,' 'We were good together' blah, blah, blah. i was sooo mad. FH cut the cord and was really good about it. but i was so mad.... first she treats my man like crap and now she is trying to get all back in there once he's engaged. i don't think so!!!
FH hasn't heard from her since and i'm glad. Ewww...

When FH and I got really serious I had to change my e-mail address and phone number because well guys will be guys and not care if you are in a relationship and FH used to get upset.
FH was married before and his ex stalked me! She was 5 years older then him, making her 17 years older then me, so it drove her insane that after they got divorced people saw him with ' a little girl' as she put it. Mind you they were already divorced a year when I even met him! We were at the gym like 2 years ago and got into a huge argument, I told her I didn't have time to play childish games, it's my fault he left her. I thoguht she was gonig to kill me! She then started calling the house in the middle of the night and hanging up and did not block her number! So he called her and told her he wanted nothing to do with her and to back off, since then I haven't seen her at the gym!

I am my FH's only girlfriend too!! I on the other hand have had 2 other bf's...one knows, and I am still friends with him, but he lives in Nebraska now, even though he mentioned one of his friends told him I was the one who got away, and he also said that he was questioning whether the person he was supposed to be with had already been a part of his life...oh well, you snooze you lose!
The other has no clue bc I told him to stop contacting me. We broke up bc he said we would never get to the point of marriage, bc he didn't believe in it...needless to say, after we broke up, he started dating someone as well, and I told him to make sure that the girl was aware of his 'no marriage' rule. Then he kept calling etc, and finally I just said enough is enough, let your gf deal with your insane issues!
