Ex Stories - Just to Pass the Day :-)

Just to pass some time, anyone have stories of their or FH's ex?

My FH's ex and him emailed probably 3-4 times a year. They dated through part of high school and all of college, but then she ended it right before her graduation. I don't really mind the light contact, especially since my ex is in our circle of friends, so I can't really say anything.

Anyway, she emailed him a few months ago to see how things were going, and he told her that we were engaged. Over a month later she replied with a 3 paragraph email about how he was such a huge role in her life, some of her favorite memories would be nothing without him including their first kiss, proms, etc ... It also went into how she always thought they'd get back together and true love never dies so there will always be a place for him in her heart, and she hopes he thinks of her sometimes and smiles about their times together. Oh, and her family was disappointed that he was not marrying her. The month lag was because she wasn't sure how to react. She also added in a few lines about how she was happy he found his true love, etc ... and actually mentioned my name in the email about how I'm lucky to have him.

Now of course I'm only giving you the parts I focused on. It could have been a closure email, but honestly - who writes that? I take it as 'I'm still here if you want me.' Surprisingly, I didn't get mad - I really thought I would, but I almost felt sorry for her. I also was a little put off that FH forwarded it to me - like I want to read about her fond memories of him, but I understand why he did, and I'd do the same. I just think it's inappropriate to write something like that. Seriously, they broke up 4 years ago! And she's living with her current boyfriend! Could you imagine if your FH sent an email like that to his ex upon finding out she was getting married? I asked my FH and he said 'I'd think you were crazy!' I personally would prefer my ex not think about our 'wonderful' times together. My MOH was like 'A simple congratulations would have been fine. No need to take a trip down memory lane.'

My FH's ex wanted to come to my home to fight me. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT. All she kept saying is that it should be them getting married and not us. I spoke to her as calmly as I could and in the most lady like manner I explained to her if she comes near me or my FH she wont have to worry about ever getting married, she'll be six feet deep. MY FH laughed and that was the last we heard of her.

That's crazy! Can you imagine brawling on your front lawn because you got engaged??? What did she think that would accomplish? If she beat you up she'd win him back? I love the thought process of some people ...

i don't want to go into deatials but all I can say is that a lot of men were not happy the day i got engaged!!

I think she wanted to test the waters. Some ladies are like that. They think that once they date a guy he is theirs forever. Life goes on people move on.

BTW:I wanted to ask if these men were so mad when you got engaged. why is it none of them never stepped up like your FH did and ask you out or pop the question? (not sure if the guys include your ex's)

Seriously! I mean, what do these guys think that we will wait around for them instead of findingour true loves! LOL My ex from HS (meanwhile I have spoke to him maybe once or twice in the past 7 years and only because we ran into each other at a bar) when my friend told him I got engaged he responded with a shocked look on his face and said he 'always thought we would get back together!' ?????? I mean, what did he expect me to never find my true love and come back looking for him after he dumped my a$$? Sorry dude, your loss!

yes most of them were X's. Me and FH have been together for alitte over 5 years so they knew it was coming... and i made it clear to everyone that ever tried to get to close to me that I a with Angelo and THATS IT... so after that why woud anyone try to 'pop the question?' they knew the answer!

That was the deal with FH's ex. She broke up with him to 'find herself,' and now 4 years later she's hurt? Is she crazy???

I lucked out and my most recent and most significant ex is such a nice guy. A few months after we broke up and I was dating FH he sent me an email saying he was really happy for me and he wanted me to know that he had moved on and was ok with everything. Now when we see each other out it's such a good experience. I have another ex that I'm not sure if he heard the news or not, but luckily we never run into each other. He's a potential church crasher, or at least was the last time I talked to him 2 years ago It makes life a little more interesting, I guess ....

I'm surprised more of you ladies don't have juicy stories! I love hearing this stuff!

i've got a good one...

so my first boyfried was for about 3 weeks when I was 17... he lived in the Bronx and i live in LI... hence one of the many reasons it didn't last... so after we broke up I basically forgot about him but stayed okay friends with one of his friends, Will, up until about a year or two ago... Will then reachesout to me last month to check in and tell me that he got married and just tell me about his life and ask about mine... so we are chitchatting and just shooting the breeze... when he says, so did you hear that David(my ex) just got out of jail? i was like well i didn't know he was in jail... turns out he was in jail for 4 years for shooting someone!!! Nice guy right?! I was dumbfounded and couldnt help but laugh b/c, wow, what a great choice in a person to date... an attempted murderer.... LOVELY.... Luckily, I don't have to worry about any of that with FH

omg i'm so sorry!!!!!

my FH's ex was a pain but then i told her off so she stopped-- she would just keep calling him and he would say, we live far away (they dated in college) so let's just say that we are too far to keep in touch, it's not appropriate and i have moved on.... so she didn't get the pic until finally i yelled at her lol and then she did but i had to! haha, she would call all the time and sometimes at like 2am!!

My ex did the same sappy email after he found out that I was engaged, only he wanted to meet for lunch. I must admit I can be extremely naive and didn't think much of it and was considering going to lunch, but I kept thinking it was a bad idea. I told him I couldn't meet for lunch and that was the last I heard of him. Fh believes he was going to try one last effort to get me back. We were broken up for over 3 years, if he was really interested why'd he take so long.

wow! did our fh's date the same girl?! me too...its sick...fh's ex just rented an apartment on our friggan block....self-respect is just something she has never learned. i feel sorry for girls like that.

Lucky for me, I am FH's first girlfriend EVER! So he doesn't have an ex's to worry me- he dated a girl a couple of times, but she stopped returning his calls- and all of a sudden, when he started dating me, she was iming him all the time, but he ignored her and that was it!

Actually, I have a funny story about one of my ex's. My best friend from college and I dated two guys who were also best friends (how cheesy!) Anyway, both of them broke up with us within a week of our Junior year ending (they were both in Grad School). That summer, my friend and I both started dating other people- and now we are engaged to those people! So anyway, my ex was talking to my best friend and she told him that we were both engaged- and he was like, 'jeez, were we that bad that you two had to go and get married after dating us?!' I still don't think he seriously believes that we are both getting married!
