Excellence Punta Cana

Anyone have any thoughts or feedback on this resort?

Seems to be a nice place and a good value, but I've heard some less than amazing things about the service (some staff were rude and had significant tipping expectations) and that the water was rough. I'm more a beach girl than a pool girl, so this concerns me a bit.

Any info would be helpful!

I went there in 2009 and it was incredible. The food the service. There were so many choices because they have so many different restaurants and they are all different. The pool was spectacular and I spent a lot of time at the swim up bar. They have nightly entertainment and activities like volleyball games during the day. Go out on the dune buggies, highly recommended excursion!

No worries, i would highly recommend. The beach is very rough but if you are looking at the water, go to your right for calmer water. There is a language barrier that i think can be perceived as rude but i would absolutely not agree that anyone was rude or that they expected tips. Going again in april for our first anniversary

I read quite a few reviews that the beds were very hard. As in, one reviewer said they were aching and in pain the entire vacation; another slept on the couch the whole time. Did you find this to be the case?

there are some people who you cant please... just do a little more research on different sites... but it is your honeymoon... so you want it to be perfect..

I've been to the Excellence in Riviera Maya and absolutely loved it. I don't recall the beds there being uncomfortable.

i've read lots of reviews that say the beds are hard, i think its a matter of personal choice. My dh and i don't mind hard beds and definitely do not consider it a deal breaker. If you do find that they are hard, the resort will put a mattress topper on the bed. The resort isabsolutely amazing

I'm really hoping this is the case. I've just found several complaints about the same several issues on different sites. I don't want to be in pain the entire week, and I'd really like to swim at the beach.

I think those are my major concerns. There's always going to be some employee that a guest finds rude, or one that has a language barrier that is taken as rude. And while I'm not thrilled with a long ride from the airport, it's not going to make or break the trip...

I have been and have recommended it to soooooo many brides on here. FM me your email and Ill send you pics as well as a full review. You CANT go wrong with booking your honeymoon here. its REDIC!!!! BUT beds were hard so we got a mattress topper which was just ok...other than that NOTHING was wrong with the hotel!
