excellence riviera maya/ tours?

I am thinking about going to Excellence Riviera Maya. I heard great things about it. But I was thinking of maybe doing a few tours while I am there. Can anyone suggest any?

I am torn between this resort and Sandals La Toc in St. Lucia, but Sandals is just so expensive.

please help me out

FH and I stayed at la toc in 2011, it was great but if you're going to spend the money I would stay at the grande instead. We went there for a day and the beach is nicer.

The excellence riviera maya is on our short list for our honeymoon. The excellence resorts are supposed to be amazing. When we go we want to check out xel-ha, it's like a water park and you can swim with dolphins, etc.

We went to erc and loved everything about it!!!!! So much so that we booked excellence punta cana for our one year this april. We've been to erc a few times and i could not imagine how much nicer our hm could be vs our prior visits. If you book, contact the concierge via email and they'll send you all available tours offered. We did this and booked prior to going. They have a lot to offer and it was safe. We went swimming with the dolphins but at dolphin discovery.....the resort is so amazing that we didn't want to spend too much time away. Fm if you have any questions

Hi! I'm a newbie here, but had to chime in! FH and I went to the Excellence a couple years ago and it was AMAZING! By far the best vacation I've ever been on. We went on 2 tours- 1 to Playa del Carmen and 1 to Tulum. Playa del Carmen was nice, but Tulum, while nice, was a bit of a drive- about 2 hours each way. I would have preferred to lounge on one of the big comfy beach beds, but that's just me :) Feel free to FM me for any info!

yeah i havent heard anything bad about it yet.. my FH is worried about it not being safe? Did anyone not feel safe while there? If we wanted to travel outside of the resort?

FH and I went to Cancun this past May and it was very safe. For the most part, the touristy areas are very safe in Mexico. We left the resort a couple of times (had to, it was hockey playoffs and I refuse to miss a game) and there was never a problem. In fact, there was always police around so I felt safer. HTH!

We are staying at Sandals Grand St Lucian then going to Anse Chastanet. Our travel agent has done this trip twice & highly recommends! I've heard wonderful things about excellence resorts!! Wherever you go, it will be wonderful :)

Thank you for your help .. We decided to do sandals grande st Lucia.. We wanted something with more tours must Lucia has yours with volcanos, caves , waterfalls so it seemed like a better fit

You'll love it! The Grande was beautiful, definitely check out the pitons!
