I cannot get into doing Excersize. I have a treadmill and an Excersize tape in my house, and I have no desire to use them. I know you are supposed to feel alot more energized when you lose weight, and I do sometimes....just not enough to excersize.
Now that it is starting toget cold out, I am going to have to use the treadmill, instead of walking outside. I wouldnt mind walking outside in the cold weather, its just that Danielle doesnt like the cold and she wont go. I also cant get into the mode of excersizing.
Two years ago during the summer, I would walk everyday after work or every morning on the weekend for 3 miles at a local park. I cannot figure out why I cant get into doing that again.
I know it would be alot better for my weight loss and I always see people that excersize, having better results than me but I still cannot motivate myself to get up off my azz and excersize.
I was wondering how many people here walk during lunchtime during the week? There are a number of people that walk during lunch time at my job. I always say im going to do it, but I never do it.....
HELP ME get motivated

Re: Excersize
Scott, maybe get a subscription to Men's Health. Magazines really help to motivate me, so maybe it'll work for you too. And one thing you should think about is that it's always really hard to get started, but once you do and you start to see the effects, it'll be much easier for you to keep it up!
Do you belong to a gym? Is there anybody from work that you can workout with? It really helps to have a partner, especially someone that's in better shape than you are

Re: Excersize
Can you go at lunch?? is there any physical activity that you like to do?? Swimming, riding, rollerblading etc. I too would be bored if I did the same thing everyday, try something different, instead of just trying to do the treadmill. I hear there are a series of tapes called Walk away the Pounds Maybe you should try that since you like walking.
To anyone that needs to get motivated, you just have to do it, b/c you will always be able to find an excuse not to go. If you don't start now, then when??? If you reward yourself with something you like each time you go, that might be a motivator. Or put $5 in a jar for every hr you w/o at the gym. You could buy yourself something nice come Christmas.
I push myself sometimes, find something at the gym that you like and stick with it.

Re: Excersize
Its not necessarily motivating but I have a time everday that I workout...this makes it easier for me to keep it up. In the begining of the week I figure out what days I am working out, when and what I am doing. I find it really hard not to workout when I have it scheduled...I get too mad at myself if I skip it....so I just don't.
Working out is part of my daily routine...I couldnt imagine not doing it.
Try planning out your week and maybe exercising won't seem like such an option...but something you just have to do.

Re: Excersize
You can try treating yourself to something sweet or your favorite meal at the end of the week if you complete your exercise plan. That can be motivating and something to look forward to.

Re: Excersize
Scott -
I COMPLETELY sympathise!!!!
I had to join a gym with FH to get motivated, because unless there's a significant amount of money at stake, he wasn't going to help me. I REALLY need him to get me moving, because I won't do it without him.
However, I've been going almost every weeknight since we joined, and as I said in the other thread, I 'feel' smaller, if that makes any sense whatsoever.
What motivates me is my Dad's health - he had an angioplasty a month and a half ago, and the aftermath has continued much longer than it should have (due to doctors' negligence, but that's a whole other post). I don't ever want to get to the point in poor health that he has (High Blood Pressure, Type 2 Diabetes, Heart issues). I am also hoping that once he's well enough, he'll get moving and start losing weight as well. Since the angioplasty he's lost 20 pounds, but that's because he spent a week or so in the hospital.
