exciting news

my sister who lives in Pennsylvania with her husband and my niece want to move to a bigger house.. they found one about 2 minutes away from their old house.. they offered my fiance and I the house for $ 220,000 where in New York can you buy a house for that!!! Anyway, it a huge house, but I am really nervous about starting new.. My fiance will have no problem finding a job, and right now I work in daycare teaching pre-k, since I couldnt get in public school here, so I am hoping to get into the schools down there.. we were approved for 100% financing, but I am really nervous, but excited !!! help

That's great!!! Just remember that everything happens for a reason. I'm not sure what the job situation is for teachers or what your specialty is but my MOH's sister is a teacher and she was choosing btw jobs in PA and VA because there weren't any jobs here on LI. The best part is your sister and her family will be your neighbors! I am so happy for you!

Re: exciting news

Congratulations!!!

You will find a job. I moved to IL about a year ago without a job and after working retail initially for like the first 3mths, I landed a job in my field that pays more than I was earning in NY.

Yay!!! Tracy that is soooo exciting, I am so happy for you! Don't worry about finding a job, you will probably get snatched up right away, if your really concerned ask your sister to send you the local paper so you can check the classified section for teaching jobs. Send your resume out and see who contacts you. Congrats again! That is wonderful news, be happy

Re: exciting news

That is such great news and such a great deal! My uncle's grandmother passed away and we were offered to buy the house for $390,000...we just couldn't do that to ourselves - we were getting nothing for the money. We've decided to move up to Orange County soon. No Long Island for us...too expensive!!!

Re: exciting news

How exciting! I think you should go for it! Nothing is permanent, if you don't like it, you can come back! Plus, I'm sure you can find a job in your field! Think of the positives:

1. You're getting a house for a great deal
2. You'll be by family
3. You get to try a new state to live in!
4. You were approved !!!!

Congrats to you and good luck w/ whatever you decide!
