Experiences with the cottage at East Wind?

I went to a wedding at the cottage and it was horrible. I would check the Veranda Room or the Estate. I am getting married in the Veranda Room and when I called to compLain I was told the cottage is totally different then the estate and veranda room. They also had ADA for photos and I can't say anything about them they blended in with the party and tommy tunes for a dj and they were horrible the music was to loud for the room and they did a bad job of blending the music. Also the bathrooms were broke in the cottage!

Experiences with the cottage at East Wind?

i went to a wedding at the cottage. it wasn't bad, it was my best friends wedding so i would have had fun no matter where she got married.
the cocktail hour food was ok but the main course wasn't good. and i know she had a lot of complaints about the DJ who was included in her package, she wasn't happy. the cottage was too small if you ask me, but i get claustrophobic easily so i couldn't get married there.
oh and the bar was too small, there was always a long time, maybe they can offer servers bringing drinks to help that?

Re: Experiences with the cottage at East Wind?

That stinks that you ladies didn't have good experiences with the Cottage. I have to say I had the opposite experience as a wedding guest. Food was amazing! I am a vegetarian and they had a good entree substitute from what I remember. My fiance and brother both had the steak (so good that my fiance took both their leftovers home!). Service was great. It was a big Greek wedding and I don't remember having to wait very long at the bar (I may have only gone to the bar myself during cocktail hour). The only issue for us was that most of the music was Greek (we're not Greek ourselves) so I can't say anything for the DJ/music aspect.

I really liked that the Cottage seemed a bit more private than the main building. I had my prom at the main building and honestly don't remember anything standing out about it in regards to the food/service/etc. (And no, I wasn't drunk to not remember )

I myself briefly considered having my wedding there because we had such a good experience. But I wanted something a little more rustic and unique. A downside for me was also that with that all inclusive package you had to use those vendors. I didn't research much to see how not using a vendor would affect pricing though. The commercials for the $10,000 package all say for 100 guests and we'll be having more
