Expertise in Electronics Needed...I'm shopping for a big screen TV big I mean BIG!! Aynone familiar with Hitachi???

Are they pretty good? I was going to go with the plasma or LCD picture tv but I found they would cost just as much to fix in case something happened when you buy it. So I'm going with a projector type TV and PC Richards is recommending Hitachi over any other brand. Your Opinion...what to look for......

I have a hitachi 43' projection tv and i love it! THe pic is crystal clear. We bought it from pc richard in August and so far no probs!

I was in the market for one in the winter and went with Mitsubishi. I read a lot of great stuff about them and actually I think they were on of the first players in this market. I am sorry but I didn't remember hearing much about them at all.

hitachi is a good brand under consumer reports...(infact thats what FMIL got us for our 27' engagement gift)

the one that sticks out in my head is RCA.. that one they said breaks down alot.

We have the Sony Wega 36' flat screen tv and it's great. I don't know anything about any of the other brands. Sorry.

My father has a 53' (somewhere around that size) Hitachi and the picture quality is outstanding. In fact, it's the best I've encountered so far.

We have a 62' Hitachi, I'm sure it's at least three years old. I love it and have had no problems with it at all. It definitly had the best picture quality of all the models in the store.

FH is an electronics fanatic and we found the Hitachi to be the best. Be sure to shop around for the best price on them - the price varies so much but I think you'll do best at PC Richards for the Hitachi.
