explain the anniversary song!

explain the anniversary song!

I think I know what it is - they asked first people married say 60 years, then 50 years and down and down until all the married couples are dancing, right?

But... is it a particular song - or do you choose the song you want?

What they do is they ask all the married couples to come up. They play a slow song (it can be any song). Then they ask the couples married less than a year to sit down, then less than 5, then less than 10 until they have one couple left dancing who have been married the longest. They get the bo-k.

You can choose any song you want. But it actually works the opposite way. They ask all of the married couples out to the dance floor. Then after a little while they ask anyone married less than 5 years to sit down. Then they go to 10, 20, etc. until the last ones standing are the couple married the longest and everyone claps for them!!

I think I'll do like a gift basket or something, not the bouquet.

I actually want to toss the bouquet.

I did the anniversary dance and gave the couple both the garter and bouquet. I told the husband to have fun putting it on his wife later on. He gave me a ginormous smile and winked his eye.

you choose whatever song you want. We used 'you're still the one' by Shania Twain. It got messed up because the 'winnng' couple cheated, but thats a whole different story.
The wedding I just went to they gave out a bottle of wine instead of the bo-k

My florist gave me an artificial bouquet to give to the couple and the RH gave us a bottle of champagne for them. It wound up being my grandparents so it was even more special!

We did the anniversary dance (we also did the garter & bouquet toss).

We used the song Have You Ever Been In Love by celine dion which was such a great song for it! Our DJ announced us off first (he said something like if you were married today), then less than 1 yr, 5 yrs, 10 yrs, etc... the people left standing were my moms aunt & uncle who are married 58 years! We knew it was going to be them, but it was so cute seeing them still dancing while everyone else sat down. We gave them a bottle of champagne and the DJ announced their names and how long they were married. Needless to say, they got a standing ovation.

That was one of the best parts of the reception.
