I have been thinking of doing hair extensions for the wedding so I can fuller curls. Has anyone done this before and if so, did you do the clips or have them sewed into your hair?

Re: Extensions?
I want to know about this too. I've been thinking about having extensions put in for the wedding. I've never had them before and I don't really know what to do.

Re: Extensions?
I have 2 friends who are hair stylists (and aren't friends with eachother). One told me to do clip ins bc that's how she does them for her clients and my other friend said she would only do it by sewing the track in to my hair bc she feels the clips can come out too easy and it would be embarrassing! Lol
So I don't know what to do!

Re: Extensions?
I'm def. getting extensions. My hairstylist said to get the ones that need to be sewn/bonded in. She said the clip-in's are ok too but she'd pin the hell out of them to make sure that they stayed in the entire day/night...lol

Re: Extensions?
I have them!!! I bought the clip in ones because I didn't want to damage my hair. If you go to Sally Beauty Supply you can buy them (Euro Next). This brand is rated the best and is human hair. They come in 14 inches or 18 inches. They can be cut and dyed. It comes with a ton of hair. 3 large sections for the back and little pieces for your sides.

Re: Extensions?
ive done both
for the wedding im doing clip ons tho, i had custom clip ins made for me, a full head, i think 12 piece all together
they were made to the measurements of my head and the length i wanted and obvi to match the color of my hair
ive also done, great lengths, so cap and micro loc great lengths and so cap are expensive and one time use, once they grow out in 3-6 months they are done, they get tossed
the micro loc are great quality and they can be re-used over and over again and less damage than the others bc there is no glue, just a bead that gets threaded through your hair
the downfall with the clip ins is that they are not that easy to do on your own, unless you have the patience to practice with them over and over again, which i dont...and i rarely use them myself bc i just dont know how to tease my hair and style it well enough with them
but they look great when done by a professional and much more cost effective in the long run!
fm if you want more info!

Re: Extensions?
Do they only make your hair longer? Do they make your hair look thicker? like if you put extensions on the sides? Sorry if question is stupid, I've never had them done and if I've seen them, I couldnt tell.

Re: Extensions?
if you have fine hair DO NOT sew them in, fine hair does not cover the bump that a track makes.
in all my years working i have never heard of clips falling out after they are placed, also i wear them almost every time i have to go somewhere. and at least with clips its easier to style your hair with them in, when you sew them you are stuck with them in that spot, so if you decide you want some of your hair pinned you really cant. also they hurt like a b!tch!
if you get the clips you can also keep them for furture use

I've never used them but a friend of mine was married a few months a go and she used my stylist who suggested she sew them in - they looked gorgeous

Re: Extensions?
If you sew them in they could cause hair loss, especially if you have fine hair and you leave them in too time. The weight of the extensions pulls.

Re: Extensions?
Do not do SEW IN'S!!!! It is really uncomfortable and gives you headaches (especially if you haven't done them before.

Re: Extensions?
my girlfriend did sew ins for her wedding and you could see the tracks because she has very thing hair....it looked awful and it felt awful...if you touched her head all you felt were the track bumps.
It also ruins your hair when taking them out so I would vote for the clips...at least you can move them around if you decide to do something different to your hair.

do clip ins, believe it or not they really stay put and are alot cheaper then sew in or bonded ones.

Re: Extensions?
Clip-ins 100%
I had a lot of hair loss/breakage when I had extensions put in my hair.
Clip-ins are fantastic. No damage to the hair, they look great, and should not budge when they're put in the right way. I wear my clip-ins all the time and it takes me about 2-3 minutes to put them in myself.

Re: Extensions?
Are the clip ins difficult? Could I keep my hair down for the ceremony and then easily put my hair up with them? Or would it look silly and show the clip ins?

I can easily put my hair up with my clip-ins on my head. I literally put them in in a couple of minutes and no one ever knows I have them. You real hair covers the clips in, so when you pull your hair up, they don't show.
