Extentions help.......updated with pics of my supplies
Original post by Coach416
I'm going for another hair trial next week and want to go with clip in extentions so I can really see if the style is for me. I wasn't going to spend a fortune on them, so I thought I'd play Martha Stewart. I bought real human hair exentions (it's like a 4 long sheet, clips, needle and thread.
Well apparently I'm not Martha Stewart.......what do I do? Do I cut them into certain size pieces? Do I triple it up and try to sew through several layers?
So much for being resourceful......lol

ok the pics you posted are hair tracks, those are the ones i was talking about that get sewn into your hair, you put the thread through the top part that has some cloth on top and sew that to the braid.
There is NO sewing with clip on hair extensions. Ive had clip on hair extensions put in a couple of times and would even do them myself...you can tease some of your hair to get it to attach to the hair better but just the underneath part you are clipping it to but thats about it.
ive also had it sewn into my hair but with tracks like you have above. If you want ill post pics later of the hair clips and what it looks like
ok.....but is there a way for me to turn these hair tracks into 'home made' extentions by sewing the clips that i have on?
YES! You can sew the clips onto the hair tracks. I wrote it out in my post above.
nevermind i thought you were answering me and thought you said that you can sew the clips on the hair meaning braiding parts of the hair and then sewing the clip to the braid lol

It's okay
Okay let me clarify... Clip-on extensions are for temporary use. No braiding is involved and they are clipped onto your hairSewing the weave onto your hair that is cornrowed is for long-time use. For temporary, you can buy the tracks with clips already attached OR you can sew the AtTTACHMENT onto the TRACK of the hair, this will then become clip-on weave.
I hope I'm not confusing anyone any further
LOL yeah i felt bad bc i think i confused ppl with the whole sewing thing...the problem is there was convo about sewing the clip onto the track but some got confused with the clip being sewn to the hair

OMG theese don't have clips attached? This looks plain scary to attempt to add clips too!
I personally would not do it. I don't like the top banding part, it looks to bulky.
If your really stuck you can FM me I will give you a girls name who will order real human hair great quality with clips attached.
Good Luck

Haha........this has turned into the most confusing thread ever!!! I want to sew the clips in the picture above onto the fake hair track to make clip in extentions. I do not want the fake hair track sewn into my real hair. I'm just trying to make my own clip on extentions with these pieces. I think I have it down as to what I can do.......hopefully I don't screw it up too much! Thanks for all your help in trying to figure this out ladies!!!!
