FH and myself intend to pay for our wedding by ourselves but we have received some generous gifts.
FH parents gave us our deposit for RH
Also,
FH father has been extremely generous . . . we asked him to mail out our 2 wedding payments for us since he works in city and it gets their faster . . he took it upon himself to pay the 2 payments for us without even telling us….. So we pretty much saved $2000.00 now my dilemma . . . That is $2000.00 extra in our pocket (which is originally counted for in my wedding budget) I don’t want to spend the $2000.00 that we have extra but I do haha . . I wanted maybe to use that extra money(not all of it)to add something extra to our wedding . . especially because I am under our original budget so far and it would be nice to add something that I would want to have but originally couldn’t because the extra money didn’t exist. Does anyone have any ideas on something extra we can do at the wedding? I was thinking photo booth but I am open to any other different ideas. Maybe an ice / ice cream truck for outside? Please throw some ideas my way.
And. . . Can anyone suggest something nice I can do now as a thank you to FFIL?

Re: extra money
That is great and very generous of them!
Not sure about what extras but the ice cream truck is a cute idea.
As a way to thank you FFIL take him to dinner or invite him over for dinner and cook him a nice meal.

Re: extra money
I completely agree with Jasmine!
My parents did something similar and FH wanted to take them out but my mother refuses to let us spend money on them. So we are going to be BBQing and having a nice, fun meal together!

I would do a photobooth..love them. also, you can set up a snack truck in the foyer or parking lot as people leave, with hot pretzels, hot dogs, bottles of water, etc.

Re: extra money
I would put it towards a photo booth I think, I think that people really enjoy them and its like an extra favor. I think the ice cream truck is an awesome idea too if it is reasonably priced. I know After Hours DJ has a snack truck for 1,500 that you can put outside that is full of chips, candy, donuts, cakes, danishes, muffins, drinks, water, soda, crackers, and pretzels and stuff. And they do an upgraded one for 2,000 that has hot coffee, hot coco, fast food, hotdogs and pizza etc.. But if your having a VH then you don't really need all that stuff.
Or another idea if your FH or FFIL likes cigars maybe get a cigar roller for the cocktail hour, some have inexpensive packages.

2012er crashing.... Coming from someone that is getting married in 2 months.. I would save the money. Use it for the things that you forgot in your budget (alterations, tips for vendors, bridesmaid and groomsmen gifts, excursions for the honeymoon, etc).
Or use it when more people that you anticipate say yes (so therefore you are over your budget for the RH)

That sounds very wise. I'd take her advice!! haha I'll have to remember that if I come into some extra money along the way

What time does your party end? Sending people home with Bagels and Cream Cheese is a cute idea (I may do it) Even though they just ate all night... when people get home and it's late or they wake up in the morning they'll already have a bite right there to eat

Re: extra money
Thanks everyone you brought up so excellent ideas. After thinking about it I am deciding to hold onto the money just in case something comes up.
