Extremely Small Wedding/Tight Budget - Need help with locations and pricing please

I thought I had it all figured out. I was going to go with Colonial Springs in Farmingdale for our September 2015 wedding. I had been speaking to the catering manager for many months. We did the tasting, went over prices, etc. finally, when I go to leave the deposit she gives me the news that they booked my date :*( Broke my heart! She had previously told me she penciled me in and not to worry, if anyone shows interest in the date - she would call me first. It was everything we needed!!!! Location, price, low minimum, lovely property.

Now we are back to square one. I need a nice place within 20-30min of the Babylon area that will allow 60-80 people on a Saturday night for well under $100pp. I'm talking under $75 and that is including taxes and fees. I know. It is nearly impossible, but man I almost had it! :) I'm willing to have it at a restaurant, cut out cocktail hour, etc. Anything to make it more affordable.

I'm stuck on the date, as it has significant meaning in my family, so changing to a Friday or Sunday isn't an option. Unfortunately, with Leap Year, the date skips Sunday in 2016 and goes right to Monday.

Thank you!!!!

Gemelli's in Babylon is great too. We considered having our wedding there too. I believe it was about $55-60 pp. They give you the whole restaurant. Babylon Carriage House is also a good option. I think they have a separate room as well.

Do you guys have a particularly favorite restaurant? If you do, see if they can hold your reception.

I will say, most of the restaurants I looked at, they only did events that close the restaurant during the day on the weekends, like a 12-4 or 12-4pm thing.

EDIT: Irish Coffee Pub also has two separate rooms from their main wedding reception room that would fit your criteria. And they would allow you to have a night reception, since the rooms are not attached to the restaurant there directly.

I don't have any venue recommendations but have you considered having a day wedding. It will cut your price buy half and it allows for you to have more venue choices.

Good luck!

OOO Gemellis is right by me! DUHHH I didn't even think about that! I considered them for my daughter's communion. Thanks! I will look into them again.

Extremely Small Wedding/Tight Budget - Need help with locations and pricing please

So sorry that happened to you! That same situation happened with the photographer I got an extremely great deal from. Don't lose hope like I almost did. My budget is a bit tighter than yours but still on the smaller side. We booked at Stuart Thomas Manor in Farmingdale because they were willing to include so much for so much less than I've been quoted elsewhere. So feel free to check them out as well as Antuns in Queens Village (NOT HICKSVILLE) and Best Western Mill River Manor. All places we heavily considered because they gave us a great price. Just keep in mind that we were getting quotes for a Thursday wedding which saved us thousands of dollars.

If you could reconsider the day, I can almost guarantee that you can get the price you're looking for. But if it's really not something you're willing to change, you're really going to have to do your research and put on your charm (smile, be very pleasant, etc) and tell them about your tight budget. That's what we did and most places tried their best to accommodate us. Here's a list of venues right from this site (in case you didn't see it already). It has a list of price ranges and what each venue offers. I would say if there is one that is close to your price range, meet with them b/c we always got lower quotes when we spoke to them in person vs on the phone. Here's the link:

Good luck!!
