Extremely WIERD Dress Question...

Did anyone's dress have a wierd smell when you went to your fittings? Mine does and the girl says it's because it is shipped overseas. Did anyone else have this happen? And how did you resolve it? Help!

i don't know about the dress
but i know when i come back from another country my suit case and my clothes smell different
(foreign smell )

I remember when my fiance went to Italy when we first started dating and when he came back he smelled and his clothes smelled so funny.

Not a bad smell but just different

I would hope once they clean and press it, it'll be fine. You will have perfume on and flowers too.

The smell will go away , I worked in a bridal store for a while and know the when some of the over sea's dresses came in sometimes the smell was enought to knock you over.Now the the dress is out of its box and etc. it won't have that heavy smell by the time they are done with it and your big day is here.

A multitude of Friends/Seinfeld lines are coming to mind- smelly cat- smelly bride. That stench that Jerry had, the smelly mattress.

Sorry, now that's out of my system. I would insist the store has the dress dry cleaned if you are unhappy.

Ya know...my dress has been sitting in ba for 8 months..I tried it on for the first time todaya nd it hda a smell to it..I thought of you...whats is taht smell.

steam dress out in shower and use fabrese...it works great!

Melissa: It's my wedding gown, I wouldnt dare take it home with that smell. I would probably drop it in the tub

Andrea: Thank you soooooo much It makes me feel better that it probably will come out.

I am going tomorrow with my Mom to take another whiff now that it's been out of the bag since Wednesday. Keep your fingers crossed that the smell has diminished.
