Eyebrow Shaping

Original post by Jacki

Hi Ladies,

I need recommendations from you for somebody who does eyebrows, and somebody who does them well. I cannot and will not get them waxed because my skin gets way too irritated, so if any of you know a professional plucker (lol) I'd really appreciate it! Thanks so much!

Do not pay more than $5!!! Waxing is much more painful. The first time I did threading it hurt, but after that it wasn't painful at all. My sisters and I have been doing threading for 10 years!

When I was in high school, I had electrolysis done on my eyebrows. Now they are perfect and I never have to pluck/wax/thread or anything. It is permanent.

The catch? You have to go about every three weeks for about a year and it is more $$. Between $15 and $25. But once you are done, you are done.

Re: Eyebrow Shaping

I have a question. I usually pluck my eyebrows myself but last month got them waxed for the first time. My forehead (between eyebrows) swelled out and I looked like Frankenstein for a week. I am not hairy so I don't know why they would wax between eyebrows anyway. I never had to pluck there. Is this a normal reaction to waxing or is my skin way too sensitive?

2003 Bride, I found the name of the salon in Hicksville, it's Aaina and their phone number is 516-933-3524. Thanks again for your help!

it's funny, i just came on here to tell you that my friend is getting me the directions and you found it already!! glad i could help---she doesn't have a specific person she goes to -she just walks in and who ever is free does it--it took about 5 minutes--very quick!

I am a former waxer and I will not go back to it!!! Threading is so much nicer than waxing! It totally gives a nicer shape to the brows! The first time I went I went to NuBest but than I was told about a place in Hicksville (closer to my house)! It's only $4.00 there!!! Plus, my friend goes to a place on Jericho Tpke. in Floral Park and she pays only $3.00

Your recommendation was great! I went to the Aaina salon in Hicksville, it only took 5 minutes and I got my eyebrows and lip done for $7! I'll never pluck again! LOL. Thanks again everybody.
