can anybody recommend somebody who does threading or waxing (brows) in either downtown mahattan or nassau country (around floral park/new hyde park).. which do you think is better waxing or threading??? i think threading is sooo painful but if i get the desired results i'm willing to suffer!!!
thanks

Re: eyebrow shaping
Not quite downtown, but I go to Robin Evans in Soho. I work downtown and I can get there and back during lunch. She's a 'Brow Master'. Here's her website:
The waxist Tania at Devachan Salon in Soho is amazing. She is the only person I will ever go to for a bikini wax! I've never done eyebrows with her because she is a little pricey, and I'm not so picky with who does my eyebrows, but Tania is amazing, and I'm sure she'd do a great job.

Re: eyebrow shaping
Waxing gives me little bumps on my eyebrows. FM me if you get threading - I'd love to hear how it goes!

Re: eyebrow shaping
Threading is similiar to waxing, but they use twisted thread to remove hair. It sounds strange if you've never done it before but its less painful than waxing.
For downtown Manhattan try Eye Brow Zone on 141 Fulton Street on the Second Floor. Every 6th visit you get your eyebrows done for free!

Re: eyebrow shaping
I've done both waxing and threading - and let me tell you threading is ten times better! I don't know how they do it, but the precision is soooo much better than in waxing. It also doesn't pull at your skin the way wax does, which will eventually cause the delicate skin beneath the eyebrow to loosen with age faster. (that's what sold me!)
