I also highly recommend threading. Been doing it for almost 8 years now. It's very precise.
Kriss2c - There is one place that I go to in New Hyde Park - not sure if that's too far for you.
Priya's Salon 1637 Hillside Ave, New Hyde Park, NY 11040 Phone: (516) 358-1800
There's also Shobha's Hair & Beauty Salon 83-59 264th St, Floral Park, NY 11004 Phone: (718) 962-2895
Eyebrow threading is between $5-7. I go there if I am in the Long Island area.
Hope that helps!
Threading is a hair removal technique that uses a cotton thread. The 100% cotton thread is twisted and rolled along the surface of the skin entwining the hairs in the thread, which are then lifted out from the follicle. It is said to be more precise than waxing.
Sounds weird but you gotta see it to understand what the process is like. It's worth giving it a try at least once!

Re: EYEBROWS . . .
Threading is the best thing ever!!!!! Better than sliced bread. Really.
I got to 'The Perfect Shape' on Park between 23 and 24. They charge me 6 dollars for the most precise eyebrow shaping I have ever had
(and I have eliminating eyebrow hair since I was 13 years old-tried EVERYTHING, and REFUSE to pay 50 dollars to have an upscale salon do it!)
It's 4 dollars for the lip. Basically, every 10 days I pay 11 dollars for my face to be done, and I think they are geniouses.
People actually come up to me and say 'Wow. You have perfect eyebrows.' Now thats a strange compliment, but I love it

Re: EYEBROWS . . .
I go to Perfect Shape too!! I am so glad that there are so many more threading options in Manhattan now.
There are some high end salons that charge as much as $20 for threading whereas you could get the same thing for $6 at smaller salons. I don't think it's worth paying 3 times the price just to have it done at a high end salon.
