eyelashes

has anyone gotten extensions or had them curled?

my eyelashes are short and super straight....i've gotten the eyelash curl treatment abt 3 times....but i'm curious to see how extensions would look..

anyway if you 've had them done

- how long do they last?
- any cons?
- where?

i want to try them

I had mine put on for my e-party last year... I was NOT happy!
I got them at best nail in NB (I've always hated that place)
I paid $20.00 for them and honestly, they looked good but started falling off.
I got them put on on friday around 4. I had makeup on and she yelled at me to take it off, so I did, washed my face, got a pedi, put the lashes on then got a mani. left there and went to teach a dance class, I pull up to the studio and the corner lash falls off... I teach my 45 min class, where I didn't dance, I sat and watched them. then attempted to go back to the salon but they were closed.

so i pulled off the corner lash on the other eye.

next morning is my e-party. i get in the shower... a few more fall off.. but nothing noticeable.
go to the party, I think I lost one or two during the day.

the next morning I wake up get in the shower... my entire right side ended up on my cheek!

I had to RIP off the left side.

I go back a week later and complain... she tells me its because my eyes were tearing and my eyes are too small and that my real lashes are too short.

wait, first it was 'because you eyes tear'
I told her my bff (who's gotten them dozens of times and hers last MONTHS) well her eyes tear..
that lead to my eyes being too small and lashes too short.. where I asked why she even did them if that was the issue!?

oh and she tried telling me they're only supposed to last 2 days...
there's another place local that does them... I'm thinking of trying.

if you go to a good place they should last about 3 months

the only con is that you can't wear mascara- i personally would still want to wear mascara even with the extensions...i just dont feel like they pop enough

but they are very pretty!

make sure you go to a good place, where you have good recs!!

and try it out BEFORE your wedding or before any big events...
make sure you dont have sensitivity to the lashes

mine weren't. well besides the few i ripped out while ripping off the one side, but honestly, it wasn't noticeable at all and there were only a few.

actually if i remember correctly, my eye lashes actually started curling on their own after that.

you can't get the cheap 20 dollar ones

they will cost like 150 and up. they look AMAZING. esp good for someone like me with short and light eyelashes.

you cant wear mascara but you wont need to. they're full and thick... the point ofwearing mascara is to get them to look how they DO look WITH extensions.

2011'er with her two cents

I used to get extensions at ebenezer lashes in the city. They start at 130 and get more expensive depending on how full you want them. I got them full on glam for my birthday once and people were LOVING on them. In a good way like 'wait, are those fake lashes?? They don't look fake...but really good!'

Ahhh but this was in more carefree financial times before house and wedding to plan and I had to give it up. If you come in every two weeks for maintenance, where they fill in the ones that fell out, they cost like 50 bucks if i remember.

They don't mess up your eyelashes, they just fall out when your natural lash does. They are SO great when you go on vacation since my natural lashes are so little and straight but wearing mascara to the beach never works out for me.

It's hard to lay still for like an hour though.

I am definitely getting them for the wedding!
