go to your friends list and i think if you clik on the x next to them it should delete them from your friends...

um, another way is to go to that persons page, scroll down towards the bottom and on the left it'll say
suggest friend
remove friend
report/block friend
just click on remove (or block if you never want to contact them EVER again)
