I made an appointment for a facial on Thursday night.... I've never had one before; do I need to do anything beforehand?
Also, does it take a couple of facials to see a difference, or after the first time should I see some changes? My makeup lady said I should have one every month till the wedding, but I'm not sure if that is really necessary??
TIA!

Re: Facial
I have had a few facials and they are wonderful. You really don't need to do anything ahead of time just don't put anything on your face. You will see a slight difference after the first one but you should have a couple more. I think one a month is a little much. They are great for your skin but in most cases right after your skin will break out a little. I hope this helps. Enjoy the facial! They are very relaxing!!!

Re: Facial
I just think they are relaxing. I never really saw a difference. When I went to the spa they told me to get on eevery month too but I am not sure if that is because they just want business
They only thing you need to do is relax and go with a clean face Have fun

Re: Facial
I am going for one today! I haven't gone in a while but I woldn't go every month. My skin definitely felt softer after my first one (2 yrs ago) and I should have gone sooner. Mabe evey 6 months is ok, if nothng else but to relax and be pampred!

Re: Facial
I had a facial nightmare 3 weeks before my wedding. Becareful! I usually go for facials every 5- 6 months. They are relaxing and I can feel the difference my skin feels good after and it is true you may get a little break out. My nightmare happened the next day. They did a fruit acids mask and the cosmotologist put a pumpkin extract on my face under the mask. I could have been allergic because my face litterally swelled the next day. It could have also been the moisturizer or cleanser I purchased from the salon. One of the workers said maybe they got a bad batch. I have never had a problem before but let me tell you I looked like the elephant man. My face was distorted. My dermatologist gave me cortizone which healed it in 3 days. Your wedding is a few months away but if you decide to go close to the wedding give it a few weeks. Also I agree once a month is a bit much for a facial. Maybe a face mask once a month is what she meant.
Just make sure that if you have any allergies to food you let the cosomotologist know. They use natural products that you could have side effects to.
Good Luck and enjoy.

Re: Facial
Also be careful if you get a facial that involves blemish extraction...I;ve seen friends who have red marks on their face for a day or two afterwards. But if you just get a basic facial, it will be super relaxing, if nothing else.

Re: Facial
Thanks!
I thought 1x a month was a little extreme also... and won't do it. If I see a good difference this time I'll go a month before the wedding.. if I see barely no difference, screw it and I'll save the $$$.
