Fake bouts..... Tacky???

HI Gals,

My FH was in 2 wedding partys and it was noticable that before the guys even got to the church their bouts were dying and falling apart. How bad would it be to use silk bouts???
Michaels and AC Moore had nice ones (roses). My friend seems to think that it might look weird against the REAL corsages of the moms and grandmothers. We don't want to look tacky or stingy, but i'd like the bouts to last through the pics. I was also told keeping them on dry ice will help. Any other thoughts?

i wanted to do silk bouts also!!!! my plan is for FH to have a real bout for the church, and then a new one for pics....and I think the GM will have silk ones.....b/c when you think about it you dont want a fake flower in the closeup shots of your and FH.....but the GM wont be in closeups so it wont be noticeable.

I am doing all silk flowers including bouts and BoK's (FH is allergic to so damn many flowers and bees and we are having a outdoor wedding). I am actually having mine done at Pat Catan's (acraft store here in Ohio) but i also went to Micheal's they do that kind of stuff I just went with the other store because of price.

Plus if you do a HIGH quality silk they look real.

we're skipping out on the bouts entirely. no one ever notices them, they get wilty and crappy looking and people smoosh them when they hug.
i mentioned not getting them and FH got so excited...he was like 'good i hate them anyway'

We are thinking about not doing them at all, but if we do, now I may consider fake ones. I had never thought about how they deteriorate. I'll keep it in mind!
