it's not that i am unwilling to tell you it's just that you don't have access to what is necessary to see it. - can you believe i majored in english![]()

That's OK .. DMAG tells me how you can figure the 'fakies' outI'm lucky I married a computer genius such as himself , who runs his own car enthusiast/chat forum board
Lesson to be learned, to those pathetic 'fakies' out there -- hiding behind a diff. name will NOT protect you!! Tsk, tsk
Yup, only admins (or site staff with those permissions) have access to seeing IP's. As it should be.... There's no need for a user to have that info.

I'm a straight to the point person. Bri can vouch for me. If you got something to say grow a set of balls(excuse my language) and say it. Don't be a child and hide behind a different screen name.
Amen to that
Good man!Everyone should think like this -- rather than jam up these boards with 'fakies' that are too chicken to reveal themselves
It just wastes time and starts UNNECESSARY drama by their mere presence

Re: Fake Names
Oct2004Bride... i am liking ya more every day.I was thinking about this myself and I was about to make a post tomorrow about the same exact subject calling out the fakies.
The people with the fake name here absolutely disgust me. Mainly because I have absolutely no shame in expressing myself, risking that people may think of me negatively. If I don't need to hide behind a fake name... why do these people?
Maybe if I used 'fake names' from the start... everyone would think DjPiLL was such a sweet 'FAKE' guy. But I don't need to win any popularity contests here so I say what I want.... when I want.... yet I draw the line when it starts to become personal
I think the people that use the fake names are people that need absolute attention and hugs and crap. Yet they want to have their cake and eat it too by telling people off when they so please.
Just my two buks. The classless KING has spoken.

Because the idiot is probably either using the same computer with two separate internet explorer windows open. Or if they are sharing the internet connection on two computers... it will probably share the IP address.
Even if the IP addresses are different... a good computer person can still figure it out.
I am sure Ron knows who the fakies are.

Every computer has a unique IP address. So, if you made another profile it comes from the same IP address. Thus 1+1=1 get it?

Yes... but like I said before... a good computer person can still figure it out. I definitely could. DMAG could. And i am pretty sure Ron could.
I'll give you a hint. Even if the IP is dynamic... it doesn't always change (at least not frequently). Sometimes depending on your configuration... it may not change for months. If it does change... your domain suffix will still remain the same... plus the IP address would be very similar (though not the same).

so they say
take optimum as an example.
they say they have dynamic IP addresses but they never change. there are also some other secrets used to detect the same users that I can not say.
