Any fall ladies (Sept, Oct, Nov) going to the Caribbean for their honeymoon? I'm so worried about hurricanes, so was wondering if anyone else is thinking of chancing it also!

We were looking into St. Lucia or Costa Rica but decided against them b/c of the threat of Hurricanes.

we decided on Mexico because we didnt want to chance getting hit with a hurricane, well just last week (exactly one year to the wedding) we happend to be on a cruise to Mexico and got hit with hurricane Paula so bad we could even dock at any of the ports so now im totally freaked and dont know if we should find somewhere else to go or chance it because the honeymoon resort we love is in a different region of Mexico than the cruise was supposed to dock at.

we're going to Hawaii but my borther got married in November and he and my SIL went to Palm Island - its in the Grenadines and off the hurricane belt. Those islands are rarely hit with anything

We were planning on going to St. Lucia, I never really gave any thought to there possibly being a hurricane

my friend went to St Lucia in Sept last year .... she bought travelers insurance so that if there would be a hurricane, they would get all their money back that they spent on the HM.
luckily for her, there was no hurricane

I was thinking about the Grenadines... hear they are BEAUTIFUL! Good to know it's below the hurricane belt!

we're getting married in Sep and might not be able to go to our HM right away since I'm a teacher But I think October will be a nice month for u to go, and u'll be back at home for Thanksgiving

We wanted Turks and Cacaos, but there is too much of a hurricane risk. So right now its between Aruba and Cabo San Lucas, Cabo is on the Baha Peninsula so it's out of the Hurricane belt

I’m doing the Caribbean anyway. Just bought insurance incase. I don’t have many options b/c my FH doesn’t fly
We’re cruising to Bermuda on week 1 and the Caribbean on week 2 (Haiti, Puerto Rico, St. Thomas & St. Maarten)

If we weren't dying to go to Hawaii we still wouldn't go to the Caribbean w/ the fear of Hurricane season ruining our honeymoon. This happened to my friend 2 years ago.

We're also planning on going to Hawaii, but we considered going back to Key West for our honeymoon.
I second the other ladies about traveler's insurance for your honeymoon regardless of where you're planning on going.

we love the El Dorado Casitas Royale resort in Riveria May, Mexico i have to research to see if that region gets hit in October. On the cruise we just took it went down the gulf we were supposed to stop at Progresso and Cozumel and they were both cancelled because of hurricane Paula
