Fall Themes for Weddings????

I have a friend who is getting married next Oct. and would like to do a fall theme. I have seen some great ideas posted but I did not find them when I did the search.

Fall brides could you fill me in on some of your ideas.

Thanks.

Fall Themes for Weddings????

I was a fall bride this past October 20. Although I did not have a full them carried out throughout the night I did use a lot of fall ideas. First I had every bridesmaid carve a pumpkin which we lit to illuminate the walkway to the reception. I also incorporated sunflowers everywhere you looked.

Fall Themes for Weddings????

We had a fall theme wedding on September 23rd. We were married outdoors and had huge pots of mums lining the aisle and around the gazebo. On all of the supports on the gazebo we had cornstalks tied with cranberry colored ribbon. Inside the reception hall our centerpieces were smaller pots of mums with little pumpkins. My bouquet had roses and lilies in oranges and yellows with wheat and berries,My maid of honor bouquet and the flower girl basket were all fall flowers in shades of red, yellow, orange and brown with wheat and berries mixed in. Everyone raved about the whole idea and we were able to give it all away including the cornstalks. Everyone took something home and the mums we took home lasted for more than 2 months!! We used Jen at Petals and Ink. She advertises on this site and does awesome work!

Im getting married on 10.5 and we have a sort of informal 'fall in NYC' theme.

There are 2 types of fall themes you can use:

1-Harvest: pumpkins, gourds, hay, cornstalks, etc
2-Autumn: Leaves, twigs, berries, acorns, etc..

Im going with the latter. Im trying to have acorns be the focal point but its not easy. Leaves are a lot easier.

You can also try www.ultimatewedding.com for some great advise. I use this site and UW everyday.
I am a Nov. 2002 bride with a Fall theme. I am having a very simple centerpiece with acorns, pinecorns, leaves mums, and other Fall flowers. My invites have a faint leave pattern on them. My girls are wearing deep plum. My favors are glass leaf jars of Vermont Maple Syrup. My cake will also have a Fall theme. And I am doing a soup course at the reception.

Some more fall stuff...

My invites also had a fall theme and we also gave away leaf shaped maple syrup bottles as our favor. All of out guests loved them. We had a terrible time with the vendor we used, so if you are thinking of this idea do not use Buffum Maple Products. Our cake was also decorated with fall flowers. My daughter's (maid of honor) dress was a deep cranberry color. It will be doing double duty as it has now been taken apart and the material made into my granddaughter's Christmas dress.

Fall themes (Long)...

Hi-
My girlfriend just had a gorgeous fall wedding this past october. Her centerpieces were all fall colored flowers, as was her bouquet (it had berries in it as well, which looked amazing). They were married under a chuppah, which was completely covered in fall colored flowers and leaves - she received nothing but compliments on it. Her invitations were beautiful. They were made of fall colored pressed flowers, and even what was written on it had a fall theme. She kept the pressed flower paper theme with her programs as well (which she hand made - and looked very professional). The baskets where she kept the programs and other things for guests were decorated with leaves, berries and tulle. Instead of throwing birdseed or blowing bubbles, people were given potpouri. The favors she gave at the wedding were bud vases, which doubled as place card holders, and were filled with dried flowers.

Also, for her centerpieces at the rehearsal dinner, she carved pumpkins and filled them with fall colored flowers. She really did a fabulous job!!

Good luck!
