OK, I'm asking if any of you ladies have any experience with this. One of my relatives took a home test and it came back positive. Then she went to her regular doctor and they gave her a urine test and it was positive, too. Now she went to her OBGYN for a check up and the doctor said they can't find the baby?? This seems so bizzare and I don't know what to tell her. Is it possible to miscarry very early on and not know it? They are giving her tests and think maybe it the earlier tests were false positives

Re: False Positives??
My freind who is 36wks went thru the same thing. Turns out the baby was waaaaaaaay to small to detect. A few weeks later he had his on screen debut via ultrsound.
But in your freinds case it may be whats seems to be a chemical pregnancy. We've sadly been experiencing that alot here on LIW.

Re: False Positives??
Chemical Pregnancy: the pregnancy hormone hCG began to go up as a very early pregnancy developed, but it didn't establish itself, causing the pregnancy hormone to drop back down.

Re: False Positives??
I had a false positive from a home test. Went to the GYN and they said that it was absolutely incorrect. False negatives are less rare (and they are rare to begin with) than false positives.

I am sure the doctor will be doing a ton of tests to figure this all out. I wish her luck.
