Do what you'd like - it's your wedding
If you feel weird about a cake then maybe you can all sing Happy Birthday to her. And maybe get a nice corsage for her to wear the whole day in honor of her wedding. But if you want to do a cake - why not?

Funny, they did this last night at the wedding I went to because it was the brides birthday a few days later.

It wouldn't be bad to not have a cake at your wedding for a birthday. My sister got married on our mom's birthday and she had the DJ sing Happy Birthday. Our mom loved it!

OOO I like the corsage idea and singing Happy Birthday to her instead of the cake- I think the cake is a bit much with trying to figure out timing and stuff but singing and presenting her with either a bouquet of flowers or a corsage would be nice!Thank you so much!!

That is very nice of you. If it were me I would not want any one else at my wedding to have a cake besides me. I would also not like it if people sung happy b-day. If you and FH want to have a cake 4 her i would ask her how she felt about it. A cake at your wedding might make her feel uncomfortable.

Aww thanks- I dont mind some of the attention off of me- its family!! and I would do it towards the end when the cake is being served too. My family are the most bunch of rowdy people you could ever meet!! LOL the uncomfortable feeling was long out the door after she said I do, lol. and shes a party girl too!!! she would love it. but thank you I can def see how some would feel awkward.

Its so funny you posted this b/c my fh and I were talking about it last night! Our best man and maid of honor ( also our sons godparents) birthday's are exactly a week before the wedding. Since there will be so much wedding fuss going on and their birthdays wont be really celebrated the way they normally are we wanted to have a small cake and wish them both a belated birthday and have everyone sing happy birthday.I think its great but not sure if its appropriate.
Im really glad this was posted!

I'm glad to see this topic too! Our wedding day is also FH's Aunt's birthday. I want to do something- a corsage maybe? And to sing happy birthday. I don't know about a cake- it would have be able to feed 125, at least, and I don't know if our hall will do an additional cake.We have to see how much it is.

Re: Family birthday on day of wedding do I have a birthday cake at reception?
i would doa corsage and sing happy birthday. if you decided to do the cake it would have to be one to feed enough people at the wedding. also it is your special day and really i would just do something small for the birthday person. that is what i would do. dont go to crazy. you have enough to worry about

It is all up to you....The day we get married, it will be my FG 3rd birthday. We are planning on doing a little cake for her & my immediate family. I am also going to have them sing 'happy birthday' & dedicate a song to her. You can make it special in anyway possible!

I would do something especially if you consdier her immediate family. My FH's birthday is 3 days after our wedding. We are at least going to sing happy birthday to him. I'll probably have the groom's cake at the RD and it will also double as his birthday cake.

Unless it was a milestone birthday, I wouldn't do it.I would also check with the birthday girl or boy. I know I would feel incredibly awkward if someone stopped thier wedding to sing happy birthday to me.

Re: Family birthday on day of wedding do I have a birthday cake at reception?
I am happy to see this post too. My dad's b day is 9 days before the wedding- his 60th. There has been some rumblings from him about doing a party or something-- but, I mean- the wedding will dwarf anything that he does..Can't get him a corsage- and I really don't want 200 some odd people singing happy birthday..
I was thinking about an announcement that it was his bday, then playing his fave song or something..
What do you guys think?

The day after my wedding is my cousin/MOH's daughters first birthday and we are very close...like sisters. I am actually going to surprise Hannah with a birthday cake
at the wedding before the night is over. She was a miracle baby so she deserves it. My cousin is going to be so surprised. So to answer your question...its totally up to you...after all its your day. You make all the decisions.
