family scandal-opinions please!
I met my FH is 2001- 8 years prior to this there was a scandal in the family with 2 of his sisters and one man- long story short- sister took other sisters boyfriend- who happened to be my FH best friend-of course there is bad blood between the sisters- okay fast forward to now- since my FH propsed he has been saying to me and everyone else that will listen that his best friend was going to be his best man at our wedding- now his best friend is now his brother in law- (yes the other sister married him!)
I have grown close to BOTH his sisters and his BF/BIL- his sister and BF(who he considers a brother) have been there for us everytime and vice versa- regardless of what happened before I met any of them- they are good people to me- anyway my FH is out of state on a business trip- in the same state that his other sister and mother are- he calls me and asks me to 3-way with his BF/BIL and proceeds to tell him that he cant be his best man anymore- he can still be in the wedding party but he doesnt want any conflict between his sisters- I was shocked and the his BF was very hurt but said he understood( what else are you suposed to say?)
I have a problem with this because 1. he shouldnt of never asked him- this scandal has been going on for years! 2. Its our wedding- it has nothing to do with them! 3. nobody deserves to be a best man to my FH but this man- what do you guys think- I havent spoken to my FH yet- but I cant understand why he would do this- we are getting married 3/04 im just wondering whether i should stay out of it- Im certainly going to tell him how I feel but I dont think its right- I have a feeling that his mother has something to do with this- I wont get to talk to my FH until monday and Im so upset about this- am I overreacting should I just tell him my opinion and drop it???![]()
