Family Vent.. ughhh

Okay so Passover dinner went well at my cousin's house in NJ- my PITA aunt was there and FH and I offered to drive her there and back. She kept going on and on about stuff in the car ride there but FH and I shut her up eventually. FH was a bit nervous because he hadn't met some of the family before and was driving somewhere he never had been before. We got lost and we called my cousin and got the right way to go.. we were still the first ones to get there which was fine with me.

My cousin was so sweet.. she had a little cake with candles and champange to celebrate FH and I engagement. I thought that was really nice of her to do that. We had mentioned to them that we ordered or STD's and were just waiting for the proofs to come in.. some didn't know what a STD was so we explained it.. also we explained the fact that they were going to be magnets... my cousin said to me 'Oh thats a great idea'

Last night I spoke to my aunt (the PITA) and she happens to mention to me that 'cousin ___ and cousin __ think that the STD are going to be a tacky idea for your wedding and that you shouldn't do it'. I was thinking to myself 'okay when we get them we won't send my side of the family any STD's'. I humored her and just said 'okay whatever'.
But it's been bugging me since I spoke to her last night that when we went for dinner they thought it was a great idea, now they think it's tacky? WTH?
Should I just send everyone a STD without caring what they think or just send everyone but my family a STD?My aunt is a big PITA but idk why she said what she said.
Sorry had to vent about it.

Send them... Who cares what people think, its for their own benefit. Also, let this be a lesson, dont' share wedding info with people outside of your close circle... eeeeeveryone has an opinion..

STDs are great and magnets make them even more convenient. your cousin who said it was a good idea probably meant it and your aunt is just saying things...some people just aren't happy unless they're complaining about something or criticizing someone. do whatever makes you happy and if you decide to get STD magnets, send her TWO!!

If you bought them with the intention to send them to everyone.. Then just go for it!!

Everyone has an opinion.. and unfortunately they feel the need to make sure you know what they like and don't like.

You cant make everyone happy so don't worry about it.

Even if they did think it was tacky.. Your aunt could have kept that to herself

send them they prob still have no idea what it is. so many couples do it.. why cant you?

What really irked me is that my aunt is saying that my cousins think it's tacky.. if she herself said it's tacky I wouldn't care.
I wonder if they were just saying that it's a good idea in front of FH.. just to kinda keep the peace.

So true but I don't want her to get to me .. I don't need the added stress. From what FH said he doesn't care also- he'd send them to them and to heck with them.

send them to everyone else but her...she dosen't like them, don't waste ur $$ on her

Thanks for the support ladies.. I know I vent alot but you're all a great support system.

I was wondering the same thing.. how can a STD be tacky? Unless the design is bad.. I got my sample (only diffrence is ours is going to have first and last names) in my album now.
