Family vent... well not really but...

Not really a vent cause I find it actually pathetic on their behalf, thought id share

so this weekend i see some of my fiances family, and I overhear that his cousin is jealous that he s getting married first, the cousin thinks she(being the oldest) should get married first... so now she is despiratly trying to find someone to get married before us ( Nov '04)... so now she is moving from far in suffolk to MA.. to live with a guy still in college who is younger than her..

what are going through peoples heads that they think its a competition?? we were together 2 1/2 years before we got engaged then a 2 year engagement, so its not like were rushing to get married or anything...

this is the cousin that 7 months have pasted with numerous family parties and she has never said congrats on our engagement...

Petty is the perfect word for her....and your right, it is pathetic!

I can top it though....FH's cousin has announced (after knowing FULL WELL when our wedding is that he is getting married when??? ON OUR WEDDING DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

me and my fiance dont care cause we were expecting something like this. his aunt always liked to compare her kids to FI... i just wonder what people are thinking.. marraige isnt a competition

Maybe it is just me, but I find this sad. I mean, this girl is probably getting pressure from other family members or maybe even teassed about it.
How old is she? And to move in with a guy to try and rush things along is also a dumb move.
I do not think it is fair to you and your FH that she doesn't congratulate you though.

michele... she is only 2 years older than my fiance(25).....I agree it is very sad..

.my fiance put up with horrible things growin up from her, i have been with my fiance for 3 years and she has not once said hello to me, and for the last year refuses to speak to my fiance.. AND to top it off.. his other aunt and uncle are taking her side... ..

It worries me that people are this unhappy with themselves that they have to constantly compare themselves to others around them!

Have any of these people sought professional help? I think LIW should post phychiatric services for them! Or maybe for their victims (US)!
