Anyone been to both and have a preference/good or bad reviews? I really love Maggie dresses and they're both premier retailers.... Thanks in advance for any help!!

Re: Fantasia Bridal vs Bridal Suite of Centereach
I've been to both. Both were nice but I had my issues with each. My problem is that I'm more on the plus side and neither place really had what I was looking for that I could actually try on. I literally got stuck in a dress at The Bridal Suite and broke the zipper. Sooo embarassing! At Fantasia, the woman helping me didn't bother to ask what I was looking for at first. I turn around and she pulls 10 dresses in the exact style that I'm trying to avoid. I can't really blame them for any of this as I have an idea of what I want and they just didn't have it. But I can't buy a dress without trying it on. It goes against an extremely strong type A personality...lol. Both were really helpful and patient, which was great. However, I had made appointments at both and had to wait over a half hour each time. I'm a stickler for stuff like that and needless to say, it really bothered me. Hope this helps

Re: Fantasia Bridal vs Bridal Suite of Centereach
I was torn between these two places as well. Ultimately, after reading some reviews and reconsidering my experience at each, I went with Fantasia and was extremely pleased with them.
ETA: I'm also plus size. My wedding gown was a 28. I was able to try on a handful of Maggies at both places. Bridal Suite of Centereach has Sabelle and Victoria, I'm pretty sure. Fantasia has Cambria and Cambria Marie (if I'm remembering the names correctly.)

Re: Fantasia Bridal vs Bridal Suite of Centereach
I bought my dress at the bridal suite, going for my first fitting next month and so far no problems. My mother in law has purchased several dresses from fantasia and loves them, so I think either one you go with should be fine.

This is my problem. IDK what is considered 'plus size' for bridal locations, but I'm no size 9 right now! lol
I wear a size 12-14 now, so I'm worried I won't be able to fit in the dresses and that will just be totally discouraging
I know that I can get back to a size 8, but I want to look around now so I know what styles go well with my body (I know my hips and butt will never be small lol)

OMG! You're totally fine! I pretty much a wedding dress size 18 (just a wee bit snug) and they were trying to stuff me into size 12 & 14's. I'm talking about going over the head, things are bunching up, sweating like a stuffed sausage, and literally bulging at the seams...lol. They both had a lot of dresses in those sizes. I WISH I WAS THOSE SIZES!!!

OMG this is how I describe clothes shopping in general lol
It's so hard when you have big hips (just a mental picture, I was about 120 lbs at 5'8 and still couldn't wear less than a size 9 because of my hips and butt) and frustrating because those dresses with a tight silhouette don't look right and there are so many nice ones out there!
Thank you for your help though, I feel a bit more relieved

Re: Fantasia Bridal vs Bridal Suite of Centereach
You're so welcome and I'm glad I can help! Unfortunately, I understand exactly how you feel. I'm blessed with the same exact issues and it makes clothes shopping almost intolerable. I wear bigger clothes for the same reason
Edited to include: Good luck! Let me know how you make out! Oh, and I went to Village Bridal in Babylon and they have a lot of Maggie dresses there. I think I found my dress but I need to drag my sister along with me to get the second opinion. I'd definately check them out too!

Re: Fantasia Bridal vs Bridal Suite of Centereach
I only have experience with BS of Centereach. I went there and the staff was wonderful to me. Barbara was a doll!! Alot of the Maggie samples I tried on were 12-14 So I had no issues with that. I also ordered my BM's dresses there too and had a similarly good experience with my 7 bm's!!
Good Luck girl!!

Re: Fantasia Bridal vs Bridal Suite of Centereach
Thanks so much ladies!!!
To add to the stress of dress shopping, my family keeps saying 'so what are you going to do about your tattoos?' I have a half sleeve on my left arm and they are constantly making comments on what it will look like in a wedding dress. My sister lost it when I got it done before her wedding and I had to take all of her pictures standing with the right arm out (see my avatar lol).
My answer...
'Sit on the right side at the church, then you won't see it' lol

IDK why people get so emotional about this- to start, it's my day and if I like it then that's all that matters. If it was someone else's day and they wanted it covered, then fine, I would have no problem doing that. I told them if they keep it up I'm gonna make them all wear temporary half sleeves too

Re: Fantasia Bridal vs Bridal Suite of Centereach
Fantasia has alot more Maggie dresses to choose from & is more organized & bigger
Bridal Suite was a little outdated (the place not the dresses) and didn't have as many dresses to choose from.
I am getting my bridesmaids dresses from fantasia. They are very nice there. They have a facebook page & I was inboxing the woman that worked there & she was very helpful!
ETA: I got my maggie at Helen's in Commack!

Re: Fantasia Bridal vs Bridal Suite of Centereach
I bought my dress at Fatasia and my BM's go their dresses from Bridal Suite of Centereach.
I tried on wedding dresses and Bridal Suite but the woman just wasn't as helpful as in Fantasia Bridal. My dress was more expensive at Fantasia then at Bridal Suite.
I went w/ bridal suite for my girls since they were cheaper.
Really though, I have no complaints about either. Both places have been really helpful.

Re: Fantasia Bridal vs Bridal Suite of Centereach
I got my dress and BM dresses at Centereach. I cannot tell you how many times I have gone in just to try on my actual dress (from storage), the BM dresses, etc. They have been so wonderful there and always willing to work with us. I will let you know about the seamstresses after my first fitting on the 29th of this month. I lost a lot of weight so we will have to see what they can do for me.

Re: Fantasia Bridal vs Bridal Suite of Centereach
I was just in a wedding and they used Fantasia bridal and had a very bad experience.
Really poor customer service. FM if you want more info, but she was not happy at all.
