Re: Farmingdale Nursing
DanielleBride went to nursing school there. FM her, I'm sure she'd be happy to give you whatever advice she can.

Maybe if you ask about general nursing students on BHB you would get a better response? I know the Suffolk, Nassau, and Farmingdale nursing programs are all almost the same. Good luck!

Re: Farmingdale Nursing
Hi.
Will you be starting in the Fall? I was accepted and will be starting at the end of August -- just went to the orientation last Friday. I looked at your profile picture but I don't recognize you (but I was at the morning session).
Anyway, sorry not too much advice, but wanted to offer my support! They made it sound like a very intense program and honestly, sort of scared me.
I will be juggling the following: full time job in Manhattan, the Nursing program, a husband, household chores, AND we are hoping to try to have a baby next June, so if that happens chances are I will be pregnant during the entire first two semesters of school
I would think if you have the majority of your big vendors booked, you should be OK.
I'll look for you when school starts

Re: Farmingdale Nursing
I'm in nursing school now but I'm in a 4 year program. It is a second career for me and it was a challenge at first. It took time to adjust my schedule but I'm sure you'll do fine. You just have to be very disciplined about your studying.
I was married for about 10 months before I started so my situation is a little different. I also didn't work much in the beginning but that is just because I really wanted to focus. Work and school can be done though.
Let me know if you have any questions, I'll be happy to answer. Good luck to you - you will be SOOOOO glad you did it!!!!

Re: Farmingdale Nursing
I was in the Farmingdale Nursing program about three years ago now....I will tell you it is a very strenuous and tough program...You just have to stay focused and keep up with your studying....it is very easy to fall behind. I can imagine it must be hard trying to plan the wedding as well. I actually graduated with someone who got married in our fourth semester. She was able to do it..but she studied nonstop and from what I heard she brought the nursing books on her honeymoon. If you need any advice or help feel free to FM me. I actually graduated three years ago, got my degree but took the NCLEX and failed two times. I ended up sticking with my current profession at the time (a Pre-K daycare teacher). Now I'm actually just starting to study for the NCLEX again because I realize how much money I'm losing out on and how much I really worked and sort of threw that away. Now I'm trying to get back into the field. I loved it..but loved teaching just as much. I'm still a teacher, but working on the nursing again. I wish you the best of luck and like I said if you need any thing feel free to FM me!!
