Umm. . .no. I think my FH would crack up on the altar if something like that was on my body. Yeah, even if it is LaCroix, I don't think I could set foot in the hall on my wedding day if I was wearing that.

Ok. I am all for Lacroix. He has so many absolutely fabulous designs(and his shoes, though painful are to die for!) . Butttt, I am not feeling this dress. Haute Couture or not, it is not doing it for me.

ITA 100%.
ETA: I LOVE the TOP part for a Chanel-esque suit. You know what I am talking about- the structured classic suits. But for a wedding dress- YUCK!

Raaaaarrrrrrrrrr
OK.. no one is asking you to wear it.
Pieces like this are sooo much more then just a dress they are works of art. You cant just look at something with the detail and craftsmanship that went into this and not respect it for what it is..... You could think its ugly..... I find lots of things that are just one step too far but I always try to see the work that made art.

thanks barb...i appreciate the art... I am into all things couture...couture dresses that are over the top...couture tableware that is not mass produced in a factory and costs an arm and a leg...couture calligraphy that is ridiculous b/c someone is just going to throw it into the garbage....i am just a couture snob and if LACROIX knocked on my door with this in hand..I would get naked at the doorstep and put it on....
that's how i roll....
and the reason why I am LE ORIGINAL GLAMOURPUSS...
but thanks for all of your honest opinions!!!

I agree that the craftsmanship on the jacket is beautiful and the colors go well together. As a wedding dress no i wouldnt wear it. Is the jacket beautifully done yes i can say that. It is a bit more avant garde so yes not something that you would typically see a bride wear but haute couture designers do have to do avant garde stuff to stand out from the rest. With that said, there are couture stuff i can love and a designer but at the same time hate some stuff the same designer does. Dont get me wrong theres some stuff ill drool over but i wont like it just bc its haute couture or avant garde. I can see the art aspect of it though.
I think ladies on here were just commenting on whether or not they would wear it.
Then again im sure theres things I LOVE and others would think i had issues lol

Absolutely!!! Just b/c its a so and so name does not mean I'm going to love it...but I will definitely look at the work that went into it. I love Marc Jacobs.... love love love him.... If he wasn't gay and if I was single I would be on his a$$ so quick! LOL... but back to the point... hes a very odd designer....but thats what I love about him. Some of his stuff is gorgeous and I drool but other things of his makes me I grew up reading W and In style magazine... so I think thats why I have more of an 'acceptance' (if thats even the right word) of seeing wacky clothing.
Really though... its art to me... just like a Pollock, some LOVE it, some DONT.

And those of us who don't love it are just voicing our honest opinions. I am not saying LaCroix isn't an artist or that that dress isn't amazing in reference to the craftsmanship. I am just saying it is not one of my favorites. You voiced your opinion, I should be allowed to voice mine on it.

Yes he does!!!!
I did a fund-raising event at his house/studio over the summer and it was just amazing!!!! His studio floor is a piece of art b/c people that really follow him can tell which painting was painted on what part of the floor.
I love his wife's, Lee, paintings more though.
p.s. today would have been his birthday.
