Father/Daugher Dance - Need Help!

I need some help ladies! My Stepdad is the best. He has been there for me since I was 9, when my real Dad left. I don't even refer to him as my Stepdad, he is my real father. Now my problem. I am trying to decide between two songs for the father/daughter dance. I narrowed it down to 1. Through The Years by Kenny Rogers, and 2. Becuase You Loved Ne by Celione Dion. My Dad and I as a child LOVED Kenny Rogers. But Because You Loved Me has meaning to. What would you guys suggest?

Father/Daugher Dance - Need Help!

Let your Dad pick. He may want one song over the other. Plus if he's involved in the decision, it might mean a lot to him to be involved in the decision.

Father/Daugher Dance - Need Help!

You know that is a good idea. I never thought of that. I am going to give him the lyrics to both songs. My Dad is great, but he is not with the music today. :-) Thanks so much! P.S. What do you think, should parent and children dancing be the children dedicating the song to the parent or vice versa or does it even matter?

Think about what he wants

The main reason I chose My Girl by the Temptations was because I know my dad really likes the Temptations. When I asked him if this song was okay with him, he nearly started to cry! :) I would say, try to determine which song is most meaningful .. I know it`s hard sometimes to choose just one. We had a hard time narrowing down for our first dance. Maybe there`s some creative way you could work the other song into the night? No one says you have to have only one dance with your father. What about using one song for THE dance, then at some point do a dedication to him while the floor is opened up for everyone to dance.

Yeah that is a good idea. We still have not picked out our wedding song and we only have less than 4 months left. I don't know what is wrong with us. We never really had a 'song' and nothing has touched either of us yet. Except for Forever I do, by John Tesh/James Ingram. That really touched him for me I am stll looking for something more. Arrgh. I love From this Moment, Shania Twain.

Have you heard the duet she did with Bryan White on her CD 'Come On Over'? He wasn't on the radio version. I think it's so much prettier.

From This Moment, Shania Twain

This was our song & we requested that our band do the opening part when she's talking & we walked in very slowly to her speaking the beginning of the song & kissed our parents, etc. and then when the song part actually started we began our dance. It was VERY dramatic & beautiful. We also requested that the song be a duet with the lead female & male singer & it was amazing!
