Father Daughter Dance

My Father is recently deceased and my two uncles are walking me down the isle. I want to dance with my uncles, when u are suppose to have a father-daughter dance, but I'm not sure how that works. Do I use the same song and split it between the two or have two different songs?? I'm also wondering if anyone has any ideas about songs, that dont say father, but are good for my uncles and I to dance. thanks for your help...

I would split the dance between your Uncles. I would not chose a Father song, which I think could get very emotional for you. I know a lot of girls are using Jodi Messina's 'I hope you Dance' song. I think it is really beautiful. And I like the Stevie Wonder song. Also, Frank Sinatra might have a tune that you like.

I agree with Jennyb, that one song is probably enough. You can decide ahead of time, who will begin the dance with you, and who will cut-in. I think the song 'I Hope You Dance' by Leeann Womack is a nice suggestion. It's not a 'father' song, but a nice, inspirational tune. Good luck.

My husband danced to the Beatles 'In My Life' with his mom. I think that would be an appropriate song for you and your uncles as well.

I agree with the one song and split it. How about Have I Told You Lately That I Love You, written by Van Morrison, but made popular by Rod Stewart. Good luck with your decision!

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. its hard to plan the 'dancing' when you know your father won't be there. I appreciate it.
