Re: Father-Daughter Dance

My Baby You by Marc Anthony. The song is perfect b/c me and my dad love salsa and Marc Anthony is one of our favorite artists. Marc wrote this song for his daughter.

I think I used the same song. 'A Song For My Daughter' on her wedding day (one of the lines is 'my daughter is a bride' or something like that, right?). I got it off amazon.com

Re: BEARSBABE

But of course! When I watch the video I see everyone wiping their eyes (all women of course) and then there was me sobbing away..... I never knew about that song until MIL told me about the mother/son song, so I ordered it for my father and when he heard it, he liked it, while my mother sat there sobbing away!!!!

Good choice -- it's definitely original and the words are so appropriate!!!

Re: Father-Daughter Dance

What is the Beatles song some of you girls are dancing to. I want to download it. I just listened to that song 'A song for my daughter.' Oh my god it is so sad! I would cry the whole time!! Definately can't use that one!!

Re: Father-Daughter Dance

I think the Beatles song is In My Life which reminds me that I downloaded it from Kaza the other day but never listened to it.

Did you girls pick the song or did your dad?

I have no clue what to pick. I love my dad but we aren't extremely close so all these songs just don't seem right.

Re: Father-Daughter Dance

'Isn't She Lovely' by Stevie Wonder -- it's the song my dad played when I came home from the hospital when I was born.

chmlengr ~ band question

Hi - I have written to you before because I too am using Times Square. Can you please tell me what your wedding song was , and if you did the whole introducion thing, what song you used for that - and were there any of their songs that were better than others - I would appreciate anything you can tell me - but don't get me wrong - I am completely comfortable with them - just looking for some suggestions - thanks so much (oh, and how is married life?!)

Re: Father-Daughter Dance

My dad played and danced w/me to 'Isn't she lovely' at our EP- same reason as Miro.
Question- am I suppose to pick the song or my dad- or are we just suppose to agree on one?

Re: Father-Daughter Dance

we used In My Life by the Beatles for the mother-son dance, but it could also be used for father-daughter...just make sure you look at the lyrics...while it fit my DH and MIL...it would not have worked for my dad and me...

Re: Father-Daughter Dance

We are using 'To Sir with Love' by Lulu...

Here are the words....

Those schoolgirl days
Of telling tales and biting nails are gone
But in my mind
I know they will still live on and on
But how do you thank someone who
Has taken you from crayons to perfume?
It isn't easy, but I'll try

If you wanted the sky
I would write across the sky in letters
That would soar a thousand feet high
'To Sir, With Love'

The time has come
For closing books and long last looks must end
And as I leave
I know that I am leaving my best friend

A friend who taught me right from wrong
And weak from strong
That's a lot to learn,
But what can I give you in return?

If you wanted the moon
I would try to make a start
But I would rather you let me
Give my heart

'To Sir, With Love'
