I've been wondering what my Dad would pick for the Father-Daughter dance. I sent him the link to 'I loved her first' by Heartland on youtube last night and he said it brough tears to his eyes. I think this may be the song!

What song are you girls using? Sorry, if someone asked this already recently. I cant remember!

Is the father supposed to pick the song? cause I had something in mind already. Kind and Generous by Natalie Merchant....

I dont they they are supposed to...it's pretty much if you want to allow him to. My Dad is more into music than me, so I wanted him to pick what he liked best

def heartland I loved her first...my dad is a mush and i keep teasing him that im not letting him listen to the song so its a surprise but I think i will tell him in september so he has time to prepare

I think I am the only one thinking of doing something a little different...

my Dad and Mom have been taking dance lessons forever, so I feel like I'll let my Dad pick a little more upbeat song and he'll teach me some moves and we'll boogie down that way...to me it is more 'us' than a traditional slow dance...he's never struck me as a 'Butterfly Kisses' guy and that song makes me wanna vomit

I'm thinking about the song 'you've got a friend' by James Taylor, either that one or 'child of mine' by Carol King - my dad is a child of the 60s and such a hippie-at-heart, he would love either of those, plus they are light enough that I hopefully won't become a crying mess by the end!

My dad and I can't decide between 'My Girl' by The Temptations or 'In My Life' by The Beatles. I think we're leaning towards the Beatles now though...

My Dad is in love with the group named the Celtic Woman and they do a version of You lift me Up and it's really beautiful...he picked that one

He recently went to the concert they had at Radio City and he said when they sang this he got a bit choked up

He is so freaking cute!!
