father daughter dance poll...please please help!

I know this is 11 months in advance, but I was just wondering what you girls are doing for Father/Daughter dances...

I have a biological Father who I met when I was 21 and really has not much to do with my life (but is coming)

I have an adopted Father who adopted me when I was about 2.. I have his last name and call him Dad

Then, I have a step-father who came into my life when I was about 12 and has paid my way through college and supported me and my mom since they got married....

WHAT DO I DO!>!> Do people do more than one father/daughter dance?? Is that awkward>?? Do I choose one, 2, all 3?/ Or do NONE!

ok...def a tough situation but if I were you I would dance w/all 3. Your Dad & Step dad def deserve the dance and if you dance w/them, why not your bio dad? This might be a great way to build a bond that will get you closer.

my sister did 2 dances at her wedding. she danced with my father and then she danced with our step-father. it wasn't weird.

Tough one... I think I might dance with all 3... but not 3 full songs.... maybe i'd split a song with all 3 of them

I say do all 3...while your adopted and step fathers have had more to do with your upbringing, I wouldn't want to leave out your birth father if you want a relationship with him moving forward.

Maybe you can pick a lengthy song and have them all dance with you for a minute?? First birth dad, then adopted dad, then step-dad??

Don't be embarrassed, some people have no fathers and you have three that love you and want to be a part of your life!!!!

my brother did an awesome thing-
both him and his wife have all remarried parents- 2 sets each!
they called ALL the parents up to the dance floor and everyone danced to 'teach your children well'/ it was kinda cheesy and had everyone bawling!

I went to a wedding where the bride started off the song dancing w/ her biological dad and then halfway through she danced w/ her step-dad and her sister (MOH) danced w/ their biological dad. It wasn't weird at all.

I think you should start the dance off with whichever dad you are closest to and has impacted your life the most.

I'd have the DJ make a mix of 3 songs...not the full song. After each partial song, dance with another dad.

that might be a good way!

or maybe you could include all 3 in a different way. 1 walks you down the aisle, 1 you dance with and 1 maybe gives a toast. sorry, i guess it would depend on your individual feelings towards each one to decide which part they did

the only choice i would say no to personally is to dance with only 2, either all 3 or 1 because 2, i think would make 1 of them feel like they were excluded

adopted dad... despite not sharing his blood... this is who you consider your father... imo if i was him i would be a little insulted if you danced with anyone else

Wow that is really tough... Anything you choose will be perfect. Just take time and think about it.

What I was going to do before I nixed the whole idea was, I'd found this song that was like almost 6 min long that I wanted. I was going to start dancing with my godfather and then have my step dad cut in halfway through.

I voted NONE. Reason being with dynamic such as yours, you can't dance with one and not the other 2. Dancing with all 3 is a bit much. IMO dancing with none............nobody gets slighted.

I know someone who's dad passed and she danced half the song with her step dad and the other half with her uncle (who stepped in as father figure when dad passed). So you can split the song into pieces as well if you dont want to do 3 whole dances. But def adopted dad.

ITA... I think it's a special moment for a daughter and father and he deserves that special moment more than your biological dad who was not in your life and wasn't the person who raised you. It might be weird if you dance with stepdad and not biological dad, but I would just stick with your 'real' (adopted) dad. You can dance with the other two for a different dance like, during the night but I wouldn't dance with him as 'the father daughter dance'. I would imagine your dad's feelings would be hurt if you shared that.

I would just dance with my adopted father. He's your real father, even if it's not through dna.

Question...

Who's walking you down the Aisle? Imo, that should be the person you do your dance with. If you want though, dance with your dad (adopted) for 1/2 of the song and then dance with your step dad for the other 1/2.

Leave biofather out. My mom actually asked me about 2 weeks ago if I wanted to invite my bio mom to the wedding (I was adopted as an infant and met her once like 7 years ago). I said, 'are you freakin' crazy?! That's weird. I might as well invite a stranger off the street?'

I would totally dance with ALL three. you can make it really classy/cute looking.
Pick ONE song- really long.. and have all three sit in chairs around you, dance with bio dad first, then step dad then adoptdad. have each one 'cut in'
I know someone who did this.. but with her grandfather, brother, and two uncles, as her father passed away. she started with her uncles then to her grandfather then her brother. it was beautiful!

who's walking you down the aisle?
