Father/FFIL gift ideas

I'm having a hard time thinking of something to get my father and FFIL as a gift. Ive seen the handkerchiefs, picture frames and cuff links but they aren't quite right for our dads. They are not the mushy/sentimental kind. Someone had suggested a box of cigars - which a good idea. But I'm not sold yet.

What are you ladies getting? Any ideas about alternative gifts?

I told my dad my gift to him was that when we are in Hawaii for the honeymoon, I am going to find the Harley Davidson stores and get him t-shirts, haha. He was so thrilled. Not sure about FFIL just yet.

I think we're just going to buy gift certificates to restaurants for our parents. My FH feels like a lot of the typical things are just a waste of money which is kind of true. How often does someone use a money clip, flask, etc unless you know that it's something they'll really like. I'm having trouble with the ring bearers and flower girls. They have so much stuff, my FH refuses to buy them more toys.

I am giving my both my Mother and Father the personalized embroidered handkerchief. I know they wouldn't want me spending a lot of money on them. We will also get them albums / wedding pictures when the time comes

i didn't really get anything specific for my dad. we ordered parent albums as a gift for both sets of parents and that was it

I have a father and a step father, and I couldn't think of an appropriate gift really to give them both besides the embroidered hankies. Neither of them are mushy but I think it will be something they can keep as a memento forever. If it's just a gift to say thanks and not to keep a memory, I second the gift certificate idea. This way your parents can treat themselves to a nice dinner.

My FMIL and FIL are getting a parent album. But, since my parents are divorced (and we can't afford another parent album for both my mom and dad), my mom is getting a parent album and I gave my dad a nice engraved picture frame from things rememebered, with a note saying he will chose whichever pic he likes when the photographer has them ready. My dad loves cigars, so we also got him a personalized/engraved 3-cigar carry case from things remembered. Its black pebble grain on the outside and cedarwood lined. Fits right in his coat pocket. He loved it.

My dad is extremely emotional (he cries every time I mention him walking me down the aisle or our father daughter dance). So I'm getting him a picture frame with a sentimental message that I know he will love. No FFIL in the picture. If you want to do something that's not too sentimental, I agree, a gift certificate to their favorite restaurant would be a good idea. Or tickets to go see their favorite sports team. Or a bottle of their favorite alcohol.

I got both embroidered handkerchiefs as well, but I have to figure out something else to get both since they are helping us a lot financially and because they are so important to us.
