My sister just called me and told me that my father has decided NOT to walk me down the aisle!!!!
A lil history...my parents are a different religion and I am getting married in a Catholic church. I had asked my dad over a year and a half ago and he said he would consider it. I told him that I would respect his decision. He at one time told me he couldn't so I asked my BEST friend who is like a brother to me and he of course said YES!!!!!!!! He was so happy...I was his best 'woman'. Over time, dad changed his mind and told me and my family he would do it. I ended up telling my best friend and he understood. Now it is 26 DAYS from my wedding and he tells my mother that he cannot do this. I am so upset!!!! Of course, I started crying because I just do not understand why now...he had a year and a half and he decides now!! I am so sad. My sister is being great and telling me that I will still have the best day ever and to not let it get to me. I just can't understand it. I have just gone thru so MUCH drama with my family (except my sister)I just don't care if they show up at all!
I called FH (working a double tonight) and he is trying to come home early. Also, I hurt my foot during softball last week and am in a cast and crutches. I am scheduled for an MRI this week to see if I tore my ligamment. Possibility that I will be in crutches for the wedding!
Sorry to burden you guys but I am so sad and trying to understand all of this! Thanks for listening!

Re: FATHER NOT WALKING DOWN AISLE!!!!
I am sorry to hear of your injury, feel better!
As for your dad, that's not nice to do so late in the game, but I bet if you ask your friend (even with short notice) he's still be honored.
Good Luck & keep us posted.

Sorry to hear that! Will your best friend walk you down the aisle? I'm sure he will understand.

Re: FATHER NOT WALKING DOWN AISLE!!!!
Sorry SoBe - Believe me it will be a regret he will live with for the REST of his life. As a matter of fact I would in a kind but to the point sort of the way bring that to his attention. You still have some time left, try not to let it get to you and ask your best friend I am sure he will totally understand.

I am so sorry, and yes I believe he will regret it later. Will your best friend still do it?'
Also, don't fret, take care of yourself, and know that you will have the best wedding day, no matter who walks you down

Re: FATHER NOT WALKING DOWN AISLE!!!!
Hi ladies,
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR KIND KIND WORDS!!!!!
I feel a little better today but I am so trying to understand why my dad did this. I am very disappointed but will defintely be okay! I spoke with my best friend today and he is very honored to walk me down the aisle! I try to look at the positive side of things and my sister and friends have been truly great about this all along!
My foot...will be getting an MRI on Wednesday so I will find out then if I tore a ligament. If so, then I will still be in crutches for wedding day! Doctor believes that I did not but wants to make sure. In the meantime, I am not thinking about it until I know for sure!
Hope everyone is doing great and planning almost done!!!!! Again,, thank you!
