Father of the Bride Remembrance in Program?

Father of the Bride Remembrance in Program?

I'm stuck in a program rut! I think I've been working on it too much.

So, my dad is deceased and I'm not going over board with public memorial things. I have my own deal with my dad's spirit and I do not want to 'over dramatize' if you know what I mean. I am adding the standard remember our loved ones no longer with us in the program but I kind of feel like I'd like to do at least a line or two for my dad seperately. Of course I have a million things to say about or to him but it's hard to keep it short and sweet. It's a wedding program not memorial service. Please suggest a nice tactful two liner that is subltle, not too schmaltzy and gives him a separate recognition. I'm just having brain freeze putting my words together!

This is what I have for the general rembrance (which was mostly plagerized! I'm telling you, I'm fried! No more thinking for me)...

We remember those who could not be here with us today. Through the years, their comfort, their wisdom and their love has helped shape our lives. They are here today watching over us as we embark on our wonderful journey and begin a new life together. We love them with all our hearts and they will always be in our memories and prayers.

Do you think I should just tuck in... We remember those who could not be here with us today, most of all the Father of the Bride. Through the years...

Thank you!!!

I've been thinking about this all day...I am in the same situation. I really like what you have

And we remember.......

I think if you put and especially father's name and indicate father of the bride

that would be good

maybe you could put a tiny pic of him...i know you didn't want anything too dramatic

Sorry, I'm probablly not much help...I've been trying to figure it out all day

Well... here's what I came up with and I think I'm going with it..... this will be after the Thank You's on the same page....

In Loving Memory

. . .

Father of the Bride, you’ll always be. In my dreams, you danced with me. Daddy, thank you for coming back in a dream visit to give me my father, daughter wedding dance and dip. I hold your spirit in my heart now and always and feel you by my side today. I love you forever, Denise

This really happened.... I totally had a dream (and I do call them dream visits because he comes all the time and it's so real) that my dad came back and when I asked why, he said to dance with me for my wedding. So I thought it was special for me and don't care if people don't get it.

My dad passed away almost 9 years ago....I always dream about him!!! I think when someone that close to you passes away its inevitable. I also want to have something in my program in memory of him....thanks for the ideas!!

My father passed last summer and we married 6 months later. I too, did not want candles or pictures of people we lost on a table. The last page of our program read:

In loving memory,
(Dad's name)

I felt that because it had been so fresh and because he paid for the wedding, he deserved a page all to himself.

During our ceremony our Rabbi chose to honor everyone else with a moment of silence.

We are having a memorial candle for my FH's dad that is going to be burning through out the mass...

In our program I put a spcl line that says. A spcl candle will be burning bright through out the mass in In Lving memory of Salvatore V!%@&^, Father of the Groom.
