father/daughter dance

father/daughter dance

Has anyone chosen this yet? I am torn between The Beatle's 'In My Life,' 'You Raise Me Up' by Josh Grobin, and 'Isn't She Lovely' by Stevie Wonder.

It depends - what is Dad most comfortable with? If dad likes Motown and can swing - Stevie is a great choice. If Dad is more of a clutch and sway guy, maybe one of the other two. I LOVE Josh Grobin, but I think that's a real tearjerker, so if you and dad aren't that way, it may be uncomfortable. So, I guess that is a long way of saying, what's dad like?

we're dancing to butterfly kisses. My dad picked it... but i dont think he realizes how long the song is! (or maybe he does, and just wants to get the most out of our F/D dance?)

FH and his mom are using 'In my life'

i dont know if that helps at all. i think you should listen close to all the songs, and try to pick the one that most reminds you of him

I like the Stevie Wonder one. I heard that he wrote it for his daughter. I think it's perfect.

What song are you all playing to dance with your father?

Dad and I are very close so mushy would work. 'Isn't She Lovely' was what Mom and Dad played to get through my delivery so it has sentimental value but I am not sure how we would dance to it. I think we may end up going with Josh Grobon.

I'm using ' In My life' by the Beatles..I had a lot of trouble deciding.

I THINK I am using Celine Dion's 'Because You Loved Me'... I am having a very difficult time choosing cuz I am afraid of crying but this one says it so well, and has yet to choke me up when I listen to it! I do like the Josh Grobin song also though, 'You Raise Me Up'.

I'm not sure what FH/FMIL are doing... She likes the Beach Boys so I told him to use 'God Only Knows'... but he is awful at these decisions. We have yet to pick a wedding song!!

hi - i'm new but wanted to post too! My dad is really sentimental and will probably cry, so I didn't want anything too mushy. So I think we are going to dance to 'I Got You Babe' because we used to sing Sonnt and Cher songs when I was little!
