I was looking for a song for me and my dad to dance to and I found one it's called My Little Girl by Steve Kirwan but my mom found one too it's called I Loved Her First by Heartland. I like the song and all but I don't like the singer (It's country) so I told my mom I wanted the other one and she won't stand down. My dad could care less. I need help. I'm I right b/c I'm the one dancing to it or should I let my mom have this one.

Re: Father/Daughter Dance
'My Little Girl' was the song we danced to, and it was SO nice!
IMO - A father/daughter dance song should be picked by either the father, or the daughter. So, I wouldn't just settle to keep your mom happy.....if it was your dad that didn't like the song, that's one thing - but this is your special moment between him and you, and if you really want My Little Girl to be playing during that moment - than you should have it! Then again, that's JMO

Heartland's song doesn't 'sound' country... even though it's by a country band, it's such a beautiful song... perfect for the moment...
