father/daughter dance

hey girls....im not super close with my dad....we actually dont have a great relatinship at all....but deep down i think i will regret not dancing with him so I have decided to do a father/daughter dance.....i am not looking for a mushy song....

can anyone reccomend a nice song....but nothing like daddys little girl or whatever....just a song i guess...lol. i guess its hard to explain.

any ideas??

My dad and I danced to 'In My Life' by the Beatles. We have a closer relationship than the song indicated, but it meant something to us, which is why we used it. But if you listen to the lyrics, it's much more generic than father/daughter. It could be paying homage to your new husband by saying 'I love you now because of what has passed in my life before' -- which could include however your relationship with your father had been.
