Do you have any ideas what you are going to do? My mom wanted me to do 'I loved her first' but I feel like its really overplayed (sorry to anyone who plans on using this - its a really good song) so I wanted to do someone else. Although I might just go to this to make people happy and it is very appropriate.
But have you heard of 'Cinderella' by Steven Curtis chapman? I think the lyrics are really pretty & I like the acoustic version.

I danced with my father to butterfly kisses for my sweet 16 so I was thinking of using it again. There are a lot if pretty father daughter country songs like I loved her first. There is my little girl by Tim McGraw off the top of my head. Whatever you pick should be special for you and not because if will make other people happy

I am not able to do the father/daughter dance, but I always imagined I'd use Kind and Generous by Natalie Merchant. As long as the song you choose is special to you and/or your dad, I don't think it matters what anyone thinks.

Yea, I feel like the father/daughter dance doesn't have to be so literal. There are some really nice songs that have meaning but aren't literal.

I went to a Sweet 16 way back in high school where the girl did a father/daughter dance and she picked 'Because You Loved Me.' I don't think it's inappropriate at all! I'm picking a fairly non-traditional father/daughter song but the lyrics are perfect. So you have to do what's right for you!

My dad has an ongoing list of songs he wants, haha. He loves country music, so most of them are country and make me cry every time I hear them. Dance With Cinderella is beautiful and was one of my first choices!

I haven't decided what I'm doing yet, but food for thought... If you get really stumped, when one of my BM's sister's got married she couldn't decide on a father/daughter dance song so instead she had her dad pick the song they danced to. It was a complete surprise for bride. It was a really sweet moment and a meaningful surprise for the bride. I just think its a cool spin on the idea.
