I only want to dance with my stepfather, and FH dance with his mother. My mom thinks we should have dances for everyone (me with FFIL, FH with my mom, on and on)
The problem is this: FFIL had serious surgery recently and will not be in strong enough condition to dance. He is very embarassed about this (always a very active person) and I do not want to put him in this position - if he is up to it, he can make the choice on his own, but I don't want to put him on the spot.
Am I right? I need support to argue with mom about this. She doesn't understand.

Re: father/daughter mother/son dances ?????????
I think you are right and very considerate of your FFIL. Leave it up to him..I knwo alot of weddings, the bride dances with FFIl etc, but the majority of weddings I have been too..the bride just dances with her father/ stepfather (and the groom of course.).Does your mom not understand that your FFIL may not be up to it? What does your Fiance say about it? You could always just say that you want to keep things as simple as possible..
