butterfly kisses- I LOVE that song! it may be cliche but I danced to that same song 10 years ago with my dad at my sweet 16 and always dreamed of doing it again with him at my wedding!

I am using two songs. . one sweet one to start and then moving into a funny upbeat song that my dad used to sing to me when I was little. . totally going to surprise him!!

'Unforgettable' Natalie Cole (Classic)
'Daughters' John Mayer
'Daddy's Angel' Anthony W. Carter (T Carter Music)
'My Wish' Rascal Flatts * I love this song!
'Music of My Heart' Gloria Estefan & N' Sync
'God Must Have Spent A Little More Time On You' N' Sync
'Because You Loved Me' Celine Dion
'How Sweet It Is' (To Be Loved By You) James Taylor
'The Way You Look Tonight' Frank Sinatra

Just a few on the top of my head...I danced to 'All For You, Sister Hazel with my father for my wedding. Just choose a song that comes from the heart, that's the best advice to anyone that's stuck with a song.

We're dancing to 'somewhere out there' by James Ingrand and Linda Ronstadt. My father and I used to watch an american tale EVERYDAY when I was younger and he always said 'this is our song' and at my brothers wedding (15 years ago) it came on and he had me stand on a chair and dance with him and he said 'we'll dance to this at your wedding'...
when FH and I started dating we went to canada for a long weekend and it was my first time away from my parents... and I got semi-homesick that FH played that song on his mp3 the majority of the time. it makes me cry.
and after we got engaged (my father wasn't TOO happy about it- but he is now) I made my father a CD that had clapton and some of his other favorites and played it in the back yard when we had friends visiting and wonderful tonight came on (that's mine and FH's song) and my father got all grumpy... and the next song was 'somewhere out there' and he got teary eyed and said 'that... that's OUR song' and I said 'I know...'

but anyway, sorry for the hijack... I'm going to try and have the song cut and edited (I'll see if my director can do it) so its part of the song by JI and LR and part of the song from the movie. And I want a video of it playing in the background or on the floor or something. ::sigh::

My Dad and Mom have taken dance lessons for over 20 years so I knew he would not want to just sway back and forth.

We are dancing to the Michael Buble version of The Way You Look Tonight...I think he said its a Merengue...he'll teach me some moves and off we'll go!

I really love this song! I want an upbeat song that we can kinda sway to also. I don't want anything slow and sad. So I'm looking for upbeat songs. I'm starting to think maybe I should just look into Frank Sinatra songs. Something classic with a nice beat.

Hey Tamara...how about asking your DJ for a playlist? They usually have those and can offer suggestions also.
